Homemade Mexican food this month from the folks at THRIVE! Make sure to pre-order!

Join us on Thursday, May 18 for fabulous Mexican takeout food! The food preparation is held at the Williamsport Community Kitchen and led by two of our students/teachers who have much experience in the kitchen. The meal features green enchilladas, red rice and refried beans.

The cost is $6. Pick up is at the Pajama Factory just outside Way Cool Beans. There may be a limited number of unreserved meals, but it is highly recommended to order online at http://thriveip.org/comfort-food-from-around-the-world/

The meals provide opportunities for our ESL students to learn and practice English as well as gain job skills. Proceeds help support Thrive's ongoing ESL classes for adults and children.

There is still time to pre-order!

Ethiopian food will be featured at Thrive's upcoming takeout meal from 5:00pm-6:30pm on April 20th with pick up at the Pajama Factory (outside Way Cool Beans). Pre-orders are highly recommended and can be placed online at http://thriveip.org/comfort-food-from-around-the-world/

The meal will include injera (traditional Ethiopian bread) along with three standard Ethiopian dishes to go on top: Sega Wat (a thick sauce made from beef, onion, salsa, oil, and spices), Tikil Gomen (cabbage, potatoes & carrots), and Ater Alicha (yellow lentils with turmeric sauce. Two dishes are mildly spicy, but tempered by the injera. A vegetarian option is available for pre-orders.

The events provide opportunities for Thrive's ESL students to share glimpses of their cultures with the community, and proceeds help support opportunities for students who are learning English in Lycoming County.
