** IN SEARCH OF ACQUIRED STRUCTURES **

Do you own a house or building that is scheduled for demolition? Before it does consider allowing our department the opportunity to use it for valuable hands-on training. Loyalsock Fire Company is looking for houses, outbuildings, garages, cabins or any other structures to train and drill on.

Training scenarios include:

- Forcible Entry
- Hoseline advancement
- Search and rescue
- Firefighter rescue and RIT scenarios (Wall breaching etc.)
- Laddering and victim rescue
- Vertical ventilation (cutting openings in the roof to allow the escape of superheated gases and smoke)

We can work around your requests like no vertical ventilation work, no broken windows or wall breaching. If your property is in Loyalsock Township or surrounding communities (we can facilitate communication with your local fire company) please let us know if you are willing to allow us on your property.

Please Contact Captain Hill via email [email protected] or message this page.

The officers and members at Loyalsock wish the best for Thomas “Tommy” Miller on his retirement.

Since beginning his full time EMS career with Loyalsock in 1989. Tommy has responded to over 25,000 calls on MICU 18. His time on the MICU has touched tens of thousands of patient lives and hundreds of fellow providers. Tommy’s dedication and service to Loyalsock Township, Lycoming and Sullivan counties is unmatched and will be hard to replicate.

Tommy continues to serve as Treasurer of the fire company which he has done for over 20 years. We wish Tommy well in his retirement and look forward to hearing his continuous cruise stories and seeing him around the firehouse as a volunteer. At this month’s company meeting Tommy was celebrated with cake and a plaque commemorating his contributions.

A reminder with the dry conditions to refrain from tossing ci******es in grass, mulch or leaves. As well as keeping eyes on outside burning barrels and campfires.

Today members trained vehicle extrication and stabilization with Montoursville Fire Department at the Booth’s Towing & Recovery yard. Members drilled several scenarios including a motorcycle underneath a truck.

Prior to training we along with mutual aid units responded to a possible commercial building fire in the township. Engine 18 arrived to a single story strip mall with nothing showing. With reported fire in the ceiling the Engine stretched and found an HVAC issue. Remainder of the box was returned.
