🚁 Training Night 🚁

Piercetown Fire Department would like to extend a big thank you to Life Flight for coming out tonight and providing hands-on Landing Zone training for our firefighters.

This type of training is critical to ensuring we can safely and efficiently assist air medical crews when seconds matter most. Our members gained valuable knowledge on proper LZ setup, communication, and safety around the aircraft.

We appreciate the partnership and dedication to helping us better serve our community! 👨‍🚒🚁

🚫 🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥🚫

The South Carolina Forestry Commission has issued a statewide burn ban that will go into effect tomorrow morning.

This means ALL outdoor burning is prohibited, including yard debris, trash, and any non-essential open burning.

Due to current dry conditions, the risk of wildfire is extremely high. Even small fires can quickly get out of control and put lives, property, and our firefighters at risk.

We strongly urge everyone to comply with this ban and help keep our community safe.

If you see smoke or fire, please report it immediately by calling 911.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

As we move into warmer weather and lawn care season, the Piercetown Fire Department would like to remind everyone about the importance of lawnmower safety.

Refueling a lawnmower while the engine is still hot can be extremely dangerous and may lead to fires. Always allow your mower to cool down before adding fuel, and refuel in a well-ventilated area away from any ignition sources.

With the current dry conditions, lawnmowers can also easily spark and ignite dry grass, leading to fast-moving grass fires. Please be mindful of your surroundings, avoid mowing during the hottest and driest parts of the day, and keep a water source or fire extinguisher nearby.

A few simple precautions can help prevent a dangerous situation. Stay safe and help us protect our community.
