Description:
Municipalities have significant authority over the development and protection of their communities. Zoning and site development ordinances as well as environmental ordinances can provide a strong backbone to enhance and protect a municipality’s environment and resiliency. While the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has baseline regulations to protect the environment and communities, in many cases these regulations are not enough and do not account for the requirements of a particular municipality.

The panelists will discuss the environmental issues currently facing municipalities and how carefully drafted and enacted ordinances can strengthen a municipality’s ability to protect the environment and safeguard its communities.

This event will be 100% virtual. Recordings will be shared with attendees after the event.

Open Space is proud to announce our latest adventure. We have purchased a property on Sykes Lane that connects directly to the bike trail. We will be presenting the plans at the next Planning Board hearing, and begin creating a place that improves access to the trail and provides a peaceful break along the trail. ENJOY the trail by bicycle, run
ning and/or walking!!
