Are you interested in becoming an EMT?

Do you live in Northern Dauphin, Southern Northumberland or Western Schuylkill Counties and wish to become part of the EMS field? Are you at least 16 years old? If so, this informational meeting is for you!

Representatives from Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) will be at the Millersburg Fire Company at 325 Center Street on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 6:30 PM. The purpose of this informational meeting is to discuss having an EMT-Basic class in Northern Dauphin County. Item that will be discussed at this meeting to help accommodate students are:

- Location of the class
- Days and hours of the class (This affects the ending date)
- Best start date of the class
- Question/answer opportunity in regards to cost, requirements and testing times/locations

Whether your organization is interested in hosting the class, has members interested in enrolling or if you are an individual interested in enrolling in this class, you are encouraged to attend. If we can demonstrate enough interest, HACC is more than willing to facilitate a class that will accommodate those of us in a more rural area. Things to consider is the current cost of $825 to register plus your own book, the course length of 260-270 hours and $75 to take the Pennsylvania Department of Health certification test.

Free back to School yard sale

It's that time again. Thinking about back to school clothing. If you have gently used children's clothing or shoes that are suitable for wear to school, would you please consider donating these clothing items for the Williams Valley 'Free back to school yard sale' That will be held on August 1st from 9:00 until 3:00 at Immanuel Lutheran Church 141 East Street Williamstown.

There are two ways to donate.
Call Cindy 717-647-2956 ( [email protected]) or Dee at 717-580-7670 ( [email protected]) and arrange for pickup or a time of delivery at Immanuel Lutheran Church 141 East Street Williamstown.

We have a need for all sizes of children's clothing and new socks and new underwear.
Thank you for your past donations and hope you will be able to help this year. Last year we serviced 70+ children with school clothing.

Or "Fill the bus" at Walmart July 23rd, 24th, and 25th. Gently used clothing, gift cards for Wal-Mart or Smart Style, backpacks, peanut butter , jelly, Individual packages of mac and cheese, crackers, pop tarts, and oatmeal . The donations will be divided between 4 school districts, Millersburg, Halifax, Upper Dauphin and Williams Valley.

Yesterday, Ambulance 24-2 and QRS 24 with five volunteers participated in a live burn training with fire departments from Gratz, Berrysburg, Lykens, and Elizabethville at Harrisburg Area Community College. WEMS provided beverages and vital signs monitoring for all of the involved personnel. Special Thanks to Gratz Area Fire Company for the invite!

Williamstown Town Wide Yard Sale is this Saturday May 9th. Starting at 8 am.

Look through all of your 'junk'....I mean your 'valuable treasures' and get them ready to sell!!
The yard sale will be advertised on our facebook site (Williamstown Community Pride), in the paper, on craigslist, and on some of the local fb sites.
Williamstown Community Pride will be set up by 8 in front of UJ's selling breakfast sandwiches, hotdogs, drinks and baked goods. Please ... stop by and support us!

Thanks to all the Fire and EMS companies who helped make today's Mock DUI a success!! If we opened the eyes of 1 student and they don't drink and drive we did our job!!! Thanks to the 4 student actors Tianna Yanoscak, Megan Schadle, Landon Bordner, and Hero Sasaki and teacher Seth Shuey for all your help!!
