We did our UnServicable Flag Ceremony today. After the actual ceremony all you can do is watch it while you wait to bury the ashes! So, it looks a little dangerous in the pictures where Commander Tom Webb's legs on fire, and a few others 😂😉 this is our Public Announcement - nobody was hurt today! We just had good conversation, good work, good food. Thanks to our commander Tom Webb, our District 1 Commander and Chaplain of legion 152, Kevin Hamel, and Joseph Bashika, First Vice Commander, you're doing great coordination and keeping us out of trouble. Nice job everyone! 🇺🇸😉

Cemetery

10:30 West Lawn Cemetery

1:00. UnServicable Flag Burning Ceremony will be held at East Lawn Cemetery near the Veterans Circle.

To dispose of a damaged American flag, lower and fold the flag into its traditional triangle fold. Respectfully place the flag in the center of a fire and allow it to completely burn while you observe a moment of silence, salute, or recite the Pledge of Allegiance. If burning the flag isn't an option, you can bury it.

Is burning the flag an act of desecration and a sign of rebellion?
No, throughout history, burning or cremation has long been considered a dignified way of paying respect to the deceased and to objects worthy of veneration.

Sending blessings to another comrade on his trip home. With gratitude for his service to country and prayers for his family, Mary Alvord MacDonald THE OLD SALT The Old Salt was a special man who came along in a time when he was needed most. A time that is now gone forever. When men believed and sacrificed, when hero’s walked the earth in mass. When patriotism was not just a word but, by what men lived and judged the worth of each, a man who lived a life most of us cannot comprehend. An era now gone as this warriors tour of duty ends at this station, and begins anew in the heavenly fleet. Sail on Sailor into your unaccompanied tour, we salute you. What greater honor, that when a man moves forward, he leaves behind in each of us the best of what he was. A defender, protector, supporter, victor, a warrior, the last of the breed from an era when ships were made of wood and men were made of steel. The Old Salt has reported for duty that takes him away from us for now. Those of us who remain behind, remember, and will continue to remember, because he now resides forever in our hearts. As I look up at night, I envision The Old Salt, a beret draped just above the eye, as he draws upon his pipe, quietly he waits. The guardian of heaven’s gate. by Mac McGovern (Pensacola, Fl)
Just wanted to let everyone know were all settled up here in Maine and am loving the fishing up here. Little Lucille will be here in October!!!
Our pistol team will begin meeting on October 19th, at the American Legion Post 125, North Adams. 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Bring a friend and grow our team. Our team will also give support to a new and upcoming team that is forming in Cheshire. We will incorporate our new Target Scan Application, https://www.facebook.com/targetscanapp This will allow us to provide fast & real-time accurate scoring, track your shooting group, graph information, and maintain files on each shooter. to The App recognizes the target pattern and holes using advanced computer vision algorithms, and it is amazingly accurate. You do not need to manually point the position at all! TargetScan also calculates vital statistics of your shooting group: • Windage and Elevation (the group center displacement) • Mean Radius (the average distance of a shot from the group center) • Maximum Spread (a.k.a. Extreme Spread)
