Banned Books Week is an opportunity for libraries to bring extra awareness to books that are frequently banned and challenged in rising censorship efforts throughout our country. It might surprise you that many of the most frequently challenged titles are contemporary books/graphic novels that showcase diverse identities and perspectives! Your Freedom to Read is supported by the Constitution, and libraries do our best to make sure everyone can find a book that they see themselves in and can learn about diverse ways of life. As teen readers, you deserve the right to choose for yourselves!
