The Friends of the Library do our best to support the Willimantic Public Library!

We do this by not only raising funds, but by organizing programs outside of the Library that promote literacy. From setting up Little Libraries around town to giving away books at Farmer's Markets, we want to instill a love of reading in children!

Do you know what the goals of the Friends of the Library are?

We have a few goals. We want to raise awareness about services and resources that WPL has, as well as its needs. We also work year-round to raise funds for programs, books, equipment, and any other assistance the Library needs.

Keep an eye out for the Friends of the Library at the Farmer's Market!

On the 4th Saturday of every month, the Friends will be giving away books at the Farmer's Market from 9:30am-12pm. The market will be on the lawn on the First Congregational Church at 199 Valley Street.

Bring your family to the Friends' table to get free books to take home and add to your home library.

We look forward to seeing you!

El cuarto sábado de cada mes, los Amigos estarán regalando libros en el Farmer’s Market, de las 9:30am-12pm. El mercado estará en el césped de First Congregational Church en 199 Valley Street.

Trae a tu familia a la mesa de los Amigos para recibir libros gratis y llevarlos a casa, y añadirlos a tu propia biblioteca.

Friendly reminder that the Willimantic Public Library will be closed today, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day. The Library will open again tomorrow, and resume normal operations.

The Computers for the Community Program is still ongoing!

If you have an old laptop or Macbook, please bring it down to the Library. We refurbish the computers, install Linux on them, and distribute them to households that request them.

Donations can be left at the front desk of the Library.

We're nearing the middle of the year, which means it's time to start thinking about fall activates!

The Friends of the Library are starting to plan for this year's Children's Book Fair. If you'd like to support the Friends' literary efforts (which in turn supports the Willimantic Library), we accept donations year-round.
