Windham Area Interfaith Ministry

Windham Area Interfaith Ministry WAIM uplifts and unites our community by providing caring services and resources to meet our neighbors' needs with dignity and respect. of each month.

WAIM is a volunteer driven organization that serves 8,000 people a year from Windham and twelve surrounding towns. Services include financial assistance for energy needs and other emergencies. With the help of our community, WAIM provides gently used clothing, household goods and furniture to people who need them. WAIM's Partner in Independence Program offers adult mentoring to those who wish to i

ncrease their financial stability; and WAIM's seasonal programs provide help with school clothing, holiday gifts and activities, and Willimantic's longest continually operating community garden. WAIM does not check messages on this social media page often. If you are on need of immediate assistance please call our direct line 860-456-7270. Our office hours are Tuesday- Friday 9am-4pm and Sat. 9am-12pm. Shopping hours are Tues, Thurs, and Fri. 9am-12pm and the first Sat.

Our first ever World Menstrual Hygiene Day volunteer program was a huge success! Many thanks to the 19 awesome people who showed up to build community, learn, and help others. Huge thanks to our cosponsor, Community Health Center, Inc. We made 150 period kits that will go to women experiencing poverty and other forms of vulnerability. Everyone deserves access to menstrual products when needed without the burdens of stigma and shame. Subscribe to our newsletter (link in comments) to be the first to learn of new volunteer opportunities like this one!

Thanks to Mika Saito of Moments of Massage Therapy in Mansfield for providing free (amazing!) chair massages to volunteers (link in comments), and Seanna Cottle of Magyk's Nest Jewelry for donating beautiful period tracking bracelets.
