In Windham tomorrow for the fundraiser supporting Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz? Stop by Jilson Square and check out the Autism Awareness Car Show hosted by the Town of Windham, Willimantic Police and Willimantic Fire Fighters Local 1033. A free, family-friendly event with incredible vehicles and community fun!

The Town of Windham, along with the Willimantic Police Department and Willimantic Fire Department, will be hosting a free Autism Awareness Car Show on Saturday, May 30th at Jilson Square in Willimantic.

There will be lots of cars on display, food, family activities, police cars, fire trucks, a petting zoo, and much more throughout the day.

Families will also be able to learn about and sign up for the LINKED Program, which helps dispatchers and first responders better assist individuals and families during emergencies by having important information available ahead of time.

Come down, enjoy the day with us, and help support autism awareness in our community.

Notice of the Willimantic Taxing District Board of Directors meeting.
May 26, 7 pm Bellingham Auditorium in the Town Hall. We are ADA compliant via the elevator on the first floor of Town Hall. We are also currently inquiring about a live feed either by social media or by Town Hall infrastructure.

On the Agenda we will be having both the Willimantic Police and Fire Department reports and then resume our usual schedule afterwards of 1 department report a month. This is an excellent opportunity to get current events and operations reports of our First Responders and get a deeper understanding of how we operate. Copies of all of our reports are available on the https://Windhamct.gov page.

We will also discuss and possibly set the Mil Rate for the Willimantic District for Fiscal Year 26/27. We are currently the only Taxing Board to have a successfully adopted Budget via referendum, and we thank the voters of Willimantic for their trust and support. For those who have questions or concerns, attend our meetings and participate with our Public Comment sections.
The public is strongly encouraged to attend, and we look forward to moving past Budget season to operations and serving as a point of contact between the Departments and the Public. I look forward to seeing you there.

The Windham Democratic Town Committee will be hosting our monthly meeting tomorrow, April 27 at 7:00 PM at Windham Town Hall.

We’ll be hearing from Josh Elliott, who will be joining us to speak and share his perspectives. We always aim to create space for open conversation and the opportunity to hear from different voices.

Anyone who’s interested is welcome to attend, listen, and be part of the discussion.
