Have you ever wondered where your donations go? Well the simple answer would be to our day to day operations but that encompasses a whole lot of things from the gloves we wear all the way to our boots. A little known fact for many is that a lot of our gear has a shelf life including our structural firefighting gear and many other items. We always strive to provide the best and up to date equipment for not only our community but all we serve so if you have any interest in volunteering or donating to us please feel free to reach out or attend our fundraisers. Earlier this evening both Station 2 & 4 were dispatched to a structure fire off the parkway close to the Patrick County line. After units marked in route the decision was made to add Meadows of Dan Fire Department due to their proximity and the large amount of smoke units we’re seeing while responding. First in units found a 2 story residential building fully involved with some extension into the nearby woods. 3 hand lines were put into service and units worked for several hours on extinguishment and overhaul.
