Willis Independent School District

Willis Independent School District Welcome to WISD’s official page. WISD may remove off topic or inappropriate comments. Our district honors small-town values and traditions.

Education is exciting for the over 9,000 Willis Wildkats who attend Prekindergarten, one of six elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school. We are a growing K-12 district nestled between the Sam Houston National Forest and Lake Conroe. Higher expectations for student achievement are set every year and are complimented by a comprehensive array of rigorous academic programs includi

ng Gifted and Talented, Career and Technology, Advanced Placement, and Dual Credit courses. College ready juniors and seniors can take Lone Star College courses in their high school classrooms, with some students graduating with more than 40 hours college credit. Through our Career and Technology program, students can acquire skills in variety of areas including architecture and construction, agriculture, audio/video technology, business management, health science, hospitality services and information technology. Certifications in selected fields are available to help students get a quick start on their careers. Our libraries are being transformed into digital learning centers and, through a combination of district provided and student-owned devices, we ensure that our children can access relevant technology in the classroom today to prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow. Our team of professional educators is dedicated to developing a life-long passion for learning in all students. We believe every child counts and every child learns and offer hope for a successful future by teaching every child to think. Individual talents and valuable life skills are enriched through our athletic, fine arts and extracurricular programs. We’re a community that pulls together for our kids and develops personal connections with them and their families. At the same time, we’re focused on preparing our students to live and work successfully in the global community of the 21st century. For more information visit www.willisisd.org.

WEATHER UPDATE - DISTRICT CLOSURE ⛈

Willis ISD will be closed on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, due to the forecast impact of Tropical Storm Edouard.

We are in communication with the National Weather Service and the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management, and based on the latest information, the forecast calls for significant rainfall with the potential for flash flooding in areas that receive the heaviest downpours. We understand that closing school creates a disruption for households across our community, and this decision is not being made lightly. At the same time, we believe making this decision proactively is the best way to help keep our entire Wildkat Family safe, including giving our student-drivers, parents, and staff the opportunity to stay off the roads during potentially hazardous conditions, particularly during the early morning hours when it will still be dark.

Please continue to monitor the weather, use caution, and take care of one another. Stay safe and dry, Wildkat Family!

Creativity takes center stage at Parmley Elementary! 🎨

Students in Mrs. Peppers’ art class are exploring drawing and painting, experimenting with different materials and techniques, and letting their imaginations lead the way. We love seeing our Wildkats create, explore, and have fun along the way!

Great things happen when we come together! 🤝

We had a great turnout at Thursday’s Bilingual/ESL Collaborative Meeting, bringing educators together to share ideas, collaborate, and focus on strategies and supports that help our Emergent Bilingual students thrive.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the conversation so meaningful. Here’s to a year filled with collaboration, learning, and growth!

History class got a little “medical” at Brabham Middle School this past week! 🩺👨‍⚕️

These 8th-grade historians were busy dissecting historical documents, while Mrs. Wilds and Mrs. Williams played the part of doctors on duty.

Who knew history could require a little surgery?!

What happens when you take science out of the textbook and into the lab? 🔬🧪

Mrs. Lambert’s fourth-grade class at C C Hardy Elementary got to find out firsthand during a visit to the science lab with Mrs. Unger! Students had fun exploring the properties of matter through hands-on experiments and activities, putting their classroom learning into practice.

We love watching our students get curious, ask questions, and discover something new!

Behind every great yearbook is a team of students making sure the moments that matter don’t go unnoticed. 📸

Our Calfee Middle School yearbook students are already hard at work capturing the big events, everyday moments, friendships, and memories that make a school year special.

We love seeing our students take on creative roles like these and help tell the story of their school community!
