What a historical and important moment for Montgomery County as Mike Holley steps in as our new District Attorney for the 9th District. Mike is a man of deep faith, proven integrity, and strong character — a true servant leader who has earned the respect of all who know him.

I’ve had the privilege of seeing his steady leadership and commitment to justice firsthand, and I look forward to working alongside him as he continues to serve the people of our county with excellence and humility.

We’re also grateful for the remarkable legacy of District Attorney Brett Ligon, whose leadership, vision, and courage have made a lasting impact on public safety and the future of our community. As he steps into his next chapter as our soon-to-be State Senator, I’m confident that God has great things ahead for both of these men and the vital roles they play in shaping the future of Montgomery County.

Faith. Integrity. Leadership. Service.
That’s what makes this county strong — and I’m thankful to serve alongside leaders who embody those values every day.

I don’t take it lightly when I’m asked to pray over a room full of leaders, coaches, and students — especially at an event like the North Houston FCA Gala.
It was a night filled with purpose, powerful stories from Bethany Hamilton, and a reminder that Fields of Faith is shaping the next generation right here in our community.

Praying for Jamaica and that region 🙏

Praying for Jamaica and that region 🙏

Melissa is now a catastrophic category 5 hurricane spinning a little over 100 miles due south of Jamaica. A recent pass from the Hurricane Hunters found surface winds of over 180 mph in the northwest eyewall. Melissa is expected to make landfall early tomorrow morning in Jamaica as either a category 4 or 5 hurricane, which would be a first in modern history.

Due to the mountainous terrain of the island, wind speeds will be up to 30% higher on the windward (upslope) sides of the hills and mountains. That means if Melissa maintains this category 5 intensity up until landfall, wind speeds could exceed 200 mph in the higher elevations of Jamaica.

I am not an expert in Jamaica’s infrastructure, but I will simply point out that when Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico as a category 4 with 155 mph winds in 2017, it took out much of the electrical infrastructure and plunged the island into darkness. Most of the island was still in the dark 2 months later, and it took half a year to get restoration up to 99%.

I’m praying for something to change here and spare Jamaica from this catastrophe, but between the catastrophic forecast for winds and up to 40” of rain over mountainous terrain, the nearly 3 million people on Jamaica need to take every precaution possible to survive this hurricane. 🙏 🇯🇲

Honored to witness the dedication of Calfee Middle School, where legacy and leadership came together in a powerful way.

More than a century ago, Homer C. Calfee had a vision for education and opportunity when he helped establish the White Oak School — a vision rooted in faith, perseverance, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to learn and lead.

That same spirit lives on today through the halls of Calfee Middle School. The legacy continues — a testament to what can happen when vision meets community and leadership meets purpose.

Busy Willis Wildkats week!! Feilds of faith, Calfee Middle School dedication, Willis Wildcat vs Oak Ridge. Great win💜💜💜
