The Vermont State Police remembers Sergeant Ron Audet of the Morristown Police Department, who passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

His legacy of leadership, professionalism, and selfless service to the people of Vermont will never be forgotten.

🚑 Congratulations to Fire Lieutenant Anthony Simanskas on earning the prestigious Chief EMS Officer (CEMSO) designation from the Commission on Professional Credentialing® on May 6, 2026.

Lt. Simanskas recently marked 18 years of service with the Williston Fire Department, beginning as a call staff firefighter and advancing through the ranks to serve as A Shift Supervisor and Department Paramedic Coordinator.

The CEMSO designation recognizes excellence in leadership, education, professional development, technical competence, and community service. Fewer than 300 individuals nationwide — and only two in Vermont — have earned this distinction.

Motorists should avoid the area of Maple Tree Place, Harvest Lane and Marshall Avenue until further notice due to a demonstration. Several roads will be closed down. We will update everyone as soon as the roads are open again.
