We have been receiving many inquiries, and we wanted to clarify that in spite of the fires in Mendocino County the Skunk Train is unharmed, and we are open and operating trains according to schedule.

Our hearts are with the many members of our local community, our Skunk family, and our neighboring counties who are being affected by this terribly tragedy. Mendocino County is a remarkable community, and Northern California is a remarkable region – we are honored to be a part of it, and will do everything we can to support it moving forward.

Tonight the Skunk Train's segment on Great Scenic Railway Journeys is up for an Emmy Award at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.

The category is Historic / Cultural Program Feature / Segment.

Regardless of the outcome it's an amazing honor. What joy to have worked with the very talented Rob VanCamp who so eloquently captures the living breathing history "Team Skunk" works so hard to keep alive.
