🔎 History Comes to Life in 6th Grade!

Students in Ms. Chenelle’s history class stepped into the role of archaeologists during an exciting classroom “archaeological dig”! 🪏

Students uncovered artifacts, made hypotheses about what each item may have been used for in the past, discussed their ideas with classmates, and recorded their findings.

🌟 Highlights from Ms. Chenelle's classes!

After a long first Friday, Ms. Chenelle's 6th graders took a well-deserved break outside and played a board game that encourages students to get to know their classmates and build new friendships.

Meanwhile, our 8th graders put their critical thinking skills to work as they created “articles” for their class Constitution, discussing the values, expectations, and agreements that will help guide their classroom community this year.

We're excited to see students connecting and collaborating as we kick off another amazing school year! 💜

Summer has a way of reminding us that growth often happens quietly.

As the flowers continue to bloom around our campus, we’re reminded that our students do the same, each in their own unique way, with a little sunshine, encouragement, and care.

We hope you’re enjoying a summer filled with adventure, laughter and time to grow. We can’t wait to welcome our students and families back for another year of learning, friendship, and new beginnings.

The 2nd Annual Willits Fest is happening THIS SATURDAY! 🎉

What a fantastic summer at WCS! ☀️

Our Middle School Summer Program was filled with fun, creativity, and adventure! Students enjoyed a wide variety of hands-on activities, creative arts and projects, exciting field trips, and even made time for reading every day. 🎨🌊📚

It was wonderful to see our students exploring, creating, learning and making lasting memories together. ✨

Thank you to our amazing staff and students for making this summer such a success. We hope everyone had a wonderful time, and we can't wait to see you back for another great school year!

Cheers to another successful Sober Grad!

For several years, Willits Charter School has had the privilege of hosting Sober Grad, giving us a front-row seat to the incredible work that goes into making this event possible. From setup to teardown, we continue to be amazed by the dedication, planning, fundraising, and countless volunteer hours that make this special night a reality for our graduates.

What takes place behind the scenes is truly remarkable. Parents, school staff, administrators, community members, and volunteers come together with a shared purpose: creating a safe, fun, and memorable celebration for local students as they mark this important milestone.

This year, our HR Administrator had the opportunity to volunteer for a few hours and spend time with many of the volunteers and administrators from schools throughout our community. One of the most inspiring parts of the evening was seeing people from different schools and organizations working side by side, united by a common goal: ensuring that our young people feel supported, celebrated, safe, and cared for.

In a time when it can be easy to focus on our differences, Sober Grad is a beautiful reminder of what brings us together. The care, compassion, and commitment shown by everyone involved reflects the very best of our community and the deep investment so many people have in the success and well being of our youth.

To every volunteer, donor, organizer, and supporter: thank you. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and the impact you make reaches far beyond a single night.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026, and thank you to the Sober Grad team for another incredible year!

We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to The Book Juggler for helping us bulk order our graduation books once again this year! 📚🎓

At WCS, it is a special tradition for every 8th-grade and 12th-grade graduate to receive a carefully selected book as a gift from a teacher. Each book is thoughtfully chosen to reflect a student's interests, celebrate their unique journey, or inspire new paths and possibilities as they move forward.

The Book Juggler has helped make this meaningful tradition possible year after year! We are proud to support this wonderful local business, not only during graduation season but throughout the year as we order books for our classrooms and library. 📖
