Today we received reports of a coyote pup hit on the side of the road on US 101 between Redwood Valley and the Ridgewood grade. Our Wildlife team went immediately to the site, but the pup was gone. If picked up please call our hotline and we will help get them emergency care and to the rehab facility. (707) 984-6363

Waterbirds Need Your Help!
Over the past week, we’ve received multiple calls about geese and ducks becoming entangled in fishing line.

Just this week, we helped capture two Canada geese. One required surgical intervention from Bird Rescue, while the other was safely untangled and released.

We know there are many more birds we haven’t been able to reach. Please help us protect our waterbirds and other wildlife by always cleaning up fishing line and properly disposing of it when you’re done fishing.

And please remind your friends and fellow anglers to do the same. A few extra moments to pick up fishing line can make a life-saving difference for our wild neighbors. 🦆❤️

These Northern Pacific Rattlesnakes are battling for dominance. With breeding season in full swing, snakes are more active with males seeking out females. These two snakes will only use their muscles, no fangs, until one gives up and slithers away.

Huge thank you to Brandon with Family Tree Service, Inc. for quickly responding and getting this bird free from tangled fishing line!! The bird was dangling 20 feet up in a tree. Without help from Brandon, it surely would have been a bad ending. This is an example of why it is so important to pick up all fishing line !

We have 4 fawns in our care as of today! This doe fawn has had a rough start after suffering a head injury from falling off a steep hillside. After a week of intensive care she is drinking her special blacktail milk formula and getting stronger everyday. Reach out to our hotline if you encounter wildlife that you believe are injured or orphaned.

‘Tis the season!! We have received 3 fawn calls in the last couple of days. In their first couple of weeks of life, their only defense is to lay still and hope you don’t see them. If a fawn is laying quietly, leave it be and leave the area. If there is reason for concern, reach out to our hotline ASAP 707-984-6363
