Our Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy students have been mastering venipunctures - the technique of inserting a needle into a vein for blood collection - and capillary puncture, which involves pricking a finger to gather a small blood sample, using manikin arms. Now, they’re taking an exciting step forward by practicing this skill on real patients! This hands-on experience is a vital part of their education! 🩸💉

Our Phlebotomy and Medical Assistant students have been hard at work learning to perform EKGs!

An EKG (electrocardiogram) is a test that checks how your heart is working. It uses small sticky patches placed on your skin to measure the electrical activity of your heart. This allows a medical provider to see if your heart is beating normally and can help catch any irregularities or problems. It’s a quick and non-invasive way to get important information about your heart’s health! 🫀
