The plan was just to build the house — take a 1959 Frank Lloyd Wright design that never got made and finally give it a foundation, walls, a roof. I didn't know the first thing about being a general contractor. Mom and I didn't know we'd end up telling that story on film. Definitely thought we would be fired after first shooting day!
But somewhere in the middle of all those decisions and setbacks and my mom's hands laying stone the way her dad and grandpa always had, a documentary crew was there catching it. And now The Last Wright has a Daytime EMMY nomination (HOLY COW) for Outstanding Instructional/How-To Program.
I am so fortunate to have been the daughter, with a mother, who built a house that was supposed to exist a long time ago, and got lucky enough to have people care about watching it happen.

Last Wright fans have been asking, what happened to mom??? She fractured her tibia plateau and dislocated the knee. We have THREE months of no weight bearing on this leg ahead of us. It’s been a very hard couple of weeks but two surgeries later it is time to heal and recover! As you know the Mother is ULTRA competitive. She had her surgery 30 days after Hopefully they can keep each other motivated. I'm pretty sure my mom will let Lindsey know if she sees her slacking. Feel free to drop .dykstra.14 some words of encouragement!!

When your human gets injured the focus is on the human. However, the four-legged family members also need TLC for the uprooting of their lives. Our Finn has been working hard, for his mom, to be the best boy he can be! He has even learned a few new tricks because he had to "step up".dykstra.14
