REPUBLIC SERVICES UPDATE | We just received an update from Republic about their collection plan this week:

They expect to resume service on Tuesday (12/3) and will attempt to recover all Monday and Tuesday collections tomorrow. Tuesday - Friday routes should put carts out on their normal day. Today's customers should put cart out on Tuesday.

Please make sure to leave carts out for pick up until serviced. Please ensure your containers are accessible for their drivers to safely service. Thank you.

These amendments are the result of a thorough review by a Charter Review Commission and approved by City Council for voter consideration. Big news for Ward 3 and our fabulous Willoughby Fire Department

We have some really BIG news to report! This evening Willoughby City Council authorized the mayor accept a 2023 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant that will fund three additional full-time firefighter-paramedics. These new positions will allow us to increase staffing at Fire Station #2 on Lost Nation Road and ensure a minimum of 5 personnel assigned to that firehouse. This has a big impact on our operations citywide, but specifically for Wards 1, 2, and part of Ward 3. Considering the amount of development in our city and especially north of State Route 2, this is a much needed increase. We have a current civil service eligibility list and expect to see the new personnel hired by March of 2025.

We sincerely thank Mayor Robert Fiala, Finance Director Cher Hoffman, and Willoughby City Council for their support and approval.

Osborne Park pickleball courts are painted and the nets are up!

Fencing work will start around 10/3; please feel free to play on the courts until construction starts again.

At that time, the courts will be closed until we have our Grand Opening event (Date TBD).

Please remember to be respectful, play 4 on 4 off, and have fun.

🚧 TRAFFIC NOTICE 🚧 Stevens Blvd will be closed beginning Monday, September 16th for one week for CSX to do maintenance on the railroad crossing. Detours will be posted.
