Dot painting is a fun and unique spin on painting with traditional brushes. Great for all ages, this fun style of art is very simple yet produces the most amazing results! Students simply dip one end of a wood dowel in paint and press it firmly and evenly onto the canvas. Repeat this process with a variety of colors and diameters of wood dowels. Kids and adults alike love the therapeutic nature of this creative mindfulness project!

And, don’t forget! All workshops by Dibbs On It will have learning objectives and lessons built in.

What greater lessons can we learn from our creative project?

1.) Small, consistent steps can yield beautifully intricate outcomes.

2.) Looking ahead and planning your next step will help you stay on your path.

3.) Mistakes happen! Just keep moving forward with the final result in mind. You won’t even notice in the end :)

Hope you’ll join us! These workshops have been getting very great reviews and I’m excited to share them with the .

Please join us on Wednesday, December 6th from 5:30-7 for ‘The Mindful Mandala’ - a K-12 creative mindfulness workshop. See the link to register below and in my story.

Chagrin River restoration at the The City of Willoughby's Daniels Park (south of Johnnycake Ridge Road) is coming along nicely! Biohabitats and Meadville Land Service, Inc. have installed all bendway weirs, rootwads are installed and backfilled, and soil lifts with live branch layering are in progress.

Never heard of live branch layering? This is a bioengineering technique where live but dormant woody cuttings are layered, alternating with successive lifts of soil fill, to stabilize the riverbank. The live branches are placed horizontally and perpendicular to the riverbank slope so that the tips poke out just beyond the face of the slope. Over the coming growing seasons, the live branches will form roots and shoots to further stabilize the Chagrin River's riverbanks!

More information about this project can be found here: https://crwp.org/projects/chagrin-river-east-branch-restoration/
