Summer school students have been making the most of their summer with hands on activities and plenty of fun.

From cooling off at the Houston pool to teamwork challenges like the water balloon pass back, "Watch Your Step," and keeping balloons in the air, students have been learning, laughing, and working together. They also got creative by making Oreo squishies and designing colorful hot air balloons using donated balloons and cups.

It's been a great mix of creativity, problem solving, teamwork, and summer fun! 💦😊

Information about the 2026 Children's Summer Feeding Program, sponsored by Convoy of Hope and Westside Family Life Center, was sent home with Summer School students last week.

This program is available to parents of school age children ages 4 to 18 and will provide weekly food distributions on:

📅 June 10, June 17, June 24, and July 1
⏰ 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
📍 Westside Family Life Center (drive through at the basement)

This year's program includes larger quantities of food, including milk, canned goods, pasta, and proteins. Because of the increased size, food must be picked up weekly by a parent or designated representative.

If you have questions, please contact Erin Brower at [email protected] or call Willow Springs Elementary at 417.469.3260 ext. 106.

Thank you to Convoy of Hope and Westside Family Life Center for supporting local families this summer! ❤️

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, let's pause to reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.
