Be prepared for detour in Willows starting tomorrow on SR-162 (Wood Street)

on State Route 162 in City of Willows

SR 162 at Wood Street and North Tehama Street will be fully closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 19-20 and Aug. 24-25 for paving and roadway repairs.

CCW Renewal Applicants – Beginning September 1st, 2026, Renewal applicants will be required to complete a new Live Scan Fingerprint Submission Per PC 26185 (b)(2).

Currently, we recommend that those expiring on or before September 1st, 2026 renew early. Renewal Applicants may submit their complete renewal application up to 90 days prior to their permit's expiration date.

Please keep in mind that appointments are required for all CCW Applicants.

Beginning September 1st, 2026, A livescan will be incorporated into your CCW Renewal Appointment.

Once the Live Scan requirement takes effect, our office will be unable to issue a license until we receive the applicant's fingerprint results from the California Department of Justice. At this time, we do not know what DOJ's processing times will be, so applicants should plan accordingly and submit complete renewal applications well in advance of their license expiration date.

School is starting which means a lot more pedestrians on the streets.
- Slow down in School zones
- Watch for children walking and biking to school
- Share the road with bicycles 🚲
- Watch for children at crosswalks and near busses
- Always stop for a bus that pulls over with red flashing lights and a stop sign

Parents, remember that e-scooters and some classes of e-bikes (class 3) require a drivers license, therefore, it is illegal for young children to ride them.
All children must wear a helmet when riding any type of bike.

This system allows residents to make non-emergency reports, check local crime statistics, view the local crime map, and request services like extra patrol and live trap rentals. Additional features include reporting control burns, placing anonymous tips, and obtain your accident report online.
