Rolling Oaks Volunteer Fire Department Rolling Oaks VFD is an all volunteer station that covers 55 square miles in Northwest Van Zandt County and provides mutual aide to surrounding departments.

Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Army!
On this day, we honor every American soldier, past and present, for their courage, selflessness and commitment to ensuring America and our freedoms remain protected. On June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress authorized the formation of ten companies from Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia to march to Boston to support the war against England for independence and put it under the command of General George Washington a few days later on June 19, 1775.

Happy National Flag Day!
In the United States, Flag Day is also celebrated on June 14th. On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted a resolution stating that “the flag of the United States be thirteen alternate stripes red and white” and that “the Union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation.” Flag Day reminds us that, though diverse and different as we may be, we are one nation. On August 3, 1949, the United States Congress approved National Flag Day, and President Harry Truman signed it into law. All Americans are encouraged to fly U.S. flags during the week of June 8-14, designated as National Flag Week.
