Our WAA dancers are stepping into new opportunities! 💃✨

Westinghouse Arts Academy dancers are participating in the Fall Into Dance Festival, October 15–16, at the Pittsburgh Playhouse of Point Park University! The festival offers hands-on master classes with industry professionals, college and career fairs, and opportunities to connect with the dance community.

An extra reason to celebrate: tonight’s special performance by Koresh Dance Company features former WAA student Nick D’Angelo! 🌟

We’re proud to see our students exploring their futures and our alumni inspiring the next generation. Keep rising, Phoenix! 🔥

Dear Students, Staff, and Families,

We regret to inform you that Westinghouse Arts Academy will have an unexpected half-day dismissal tomorrow, Friday, October 16, 2026, due to a plumbing issue that requires necessary repairs during the afternoon.

All students will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m.

We understand that this unexpected schedule change may create challenges for our families, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. However, these repairs are necessary to ensure that our school facilities remain safe and fully operational for our students and staff.

We appreciate your understanding, patience, and flexibility as we address this matter.

Thank you for your continued support of Westinghouse Arts Academy.

Warm regards,

Dr. Anne Clark

GREAT JOB!! 🌟👏

Our Westinghouse Arts Academy Charter School students made us proud yesterday with their performance at the Pittsburgh Walk of Fame luncheon!

As Mr. Barbee shared, “People were impressed that the group was not from a college, but a high school!!!” All 14 guests at the Westinghouse Legacy table were buzzing about our students between sessions!

Our chorus performed before an audience rich in Pittsburgh’s arts, history, and legacy—including Mario Lemieux and his foundation, the Franco Harris family and foundation, and a descendant of George Westinghouse. Their talent helped build connections and opened doors to future opportunities.

Mr. Barbee said it beautifully: “You and your group just opened up a ton of doors for the students now and going forward.” Those connections have already sparked conversations about podcasts, another choral performance, and a possible collaboration with the Duquesne University Jazz Ensemble in our historic theatre! 🎶

To our students: Your voices made an impression. Your hard work created possibilities. We hope you know how proud we are of you! ❤️
