The City of Wilmington's Equity and Inclusion Department Wishes Everyone a Happy Women's Equality Day! This year's theme is Inspiring Inclusion.

Women's Equality day celebrates the adoption of the 19th Amendment in 1920, which gave some women the right to vote. It would take the the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to ensure comprehensive protections were established for historically excluded groups in the United States.

National Women’s Equality Day not only commemorates past achievements but also underscores the importance of continued advocacy to achieve true gender equality.
