🎓✨ Congratulations to our scholarship recipient, Grace Jones!

This fall, Grace will attend Eastern Michigan University, where she plans to pursue a double major in Psychology and Criminology before continuing on to earn her Doctorate in Psychology. Driven by curiosity, compassion, and a deep desire to help others, Grace is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her.

During her high school career, Grace was involved in an impressive range of academic, athletic, and extracurricular activities, including Math Team, Scholastic Bowl, Speech Team, CAT Crew, Tri-M, Band, Color Guard, Spanish Club, Soccer, Golf, Sideline Cheer, and more. She also served as a captain for her golf team and volunteered as an assistant coach for the Bobcats Junior Football Cheerleaders. Her accomplishments include numerous speech and math awards, ICE Honor Band recognition, PALS membership at the Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute, and earning High or Superior Honors throughout all four years of high school.

One quote from her application especially stood out:

"I want to hear what people think. I want to know who they turn to when they feel as though no one will listen. I want to be the person that’s able to lift others up, giving them someone who cares about them, especially if no one else is supporting them."

Grace, your empathy, leadership, and dedication to helping others are truly inspiring. Congratulations on this achievement! We can't wait to see the incredible impact you'll make in the future!

🎓✨ Congratulations to our scholarship recipient, Melia Hincherick!

This fall, Melia will attend Western Michigan University as she pursues her goal of earning a Doctoral degree in Child Psychology and Counseling. A self-driven, hardworking leader with exceptional time-management skills, Melia has made a lasting impact both in and out of the classroom.

Throughout high school, she was actively involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, Best Buddies, Interact Club, multiple leadership committees, and was a four-year athlete in both volleyball and basketball, serving as team captain for multiple seasons. Her long list of academic and athletic honors reflects her dedication, excellence, and commitment to growth.

One quote from her application truly stood out:

"All of the activities that I have done all have had the same goal of making sure that everyone, including the youth, lives a healthy, happy, and secure life while learning how to keep their lives safe and alcohol/drug-free."

Melia, your passion for serving others and creating positive change is inspiring. Congratulations on all you've accomplished so far! We can't wait to see the difference you'll make in the future!

✨ Coalition in the Community

Earlier this month, we were proud to be part of the Red Carpet Corridor and connect with community members throughout the event. Opportunities like these help us continue conversations around prevention, wellness, support, and creating a healthier community together.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, learn more, and support the work happening throughout Wilmington!
