Please join us in congratulating Derek Long, RN, Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), on his new role as Shift Supervisor with our AirLink | VitaLink team!

Derek has been part of our team since 2014 and a member of the flight team since 2015. As a Base Lead and flight nurse, he has consistently demonstrated dedication, leadership, and a strong commitment to his teammates and the patients and communities we serve.

We’re excited to see Derek take this next step in his leadership journey. Congratulations, Derek, we’re proud to have you on our team!

We had a great Landing Zone Safety Class last night hosted by Verona Volunteer Fire Department!

We were also joined by firefighters from Turkey Creek Fire Rescue, Haws Run Volunteer Fire Department, and Southwest Volunteer Fire Department. It’s always great to get some face to face time with the departments and crews who help support our AirLink teams during scene flights.

Safe helicopter operations truly take a team. Landing Zone Safety classes give our local first responders the opportunity to review aircraft safety, landing zone setup, communications, and how we can all work together to keep our patients and crews safe.

Our AirLink team always enjoys the opportunity to work with our local fire departments!

A great evening with Bolton Fire Department, working together on safe landing zone operations and helping ensure our teams can safely get in and out when every minute matters.

Our VitaLink team had a great time at the Back to School Block Party hosted by Trinity United Methodist Church - Wilmington NC at New Hanover High School this weekend. It was great to see so many local agencies and organizations come together for an afternoon focused on our community and its kids.

We even got to hang out with the cool kids from Wilmington, NC Fire Department. Or…did THEY get to hang out with the cool kids from VitaLink?

Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a great community event. Wishing all our students an awesome school year!

We’re proud to recognize our own Nicole Campbell as she completes her second year in the AAMS Safety Management Transport Academy and obtaining her MTSP-C certification!

This program brings together professionals from across the medical transport industry to learn, collaborate, and continue developing the leadership skills that help move our profession forward.

One of the best parts of opportunities like this is connecting with colleagues who share the same commitment to advancing critical care transport. Nicole was joined by fellow North Carolina providers representing Duke, UNC, Advocate Health, Cape Fear Valley, and MedCenter Air - a great reminder of the incredible knowledge, experience, and collaboration we have right here in our state.

Nicole, congratulations on completing year two! We’re proud to have you representing our team and continuing to invest in your growth, leadership, and the future of medical transport.

It’s FRIDAY! And we’re pretty sure that calls for a happy dance!

In healthcare, our days can be busy and the work we do is important-but there’s always room for a little laughter, a little fun, and apparently…a few dance moves.

And when the little ones see the fun happening, sometimes they just have to get in on it too! We think she makes a pretty cute addition to the dance crew.

What an incredible afternoon!

We started the day with the Swansboro Fire Department, where we had the opportunity to teach a Landing Zone Safety class. Once the aircraft landed, with our friends from Swansboro Fire Department and Swansboro Police Department there to help, we got to transition from training to celebrating the community at National Night Out!

It’s always an amazing time when we get to spend time with the communities we serve. Meeting families, connecting with our first responder partners, and simply being part of these community events is one of the best parts of what we do.

Thank you, Swansboro, for welcoming us and making it such a great afternoon!

When the Conway Medical Center employees needed a photo in an ambulance to complete their scavenger hunt our VitaLink Conway team was all in!

Our Critical Care team had a great time joining in the fun while giving participants the chance to spend a few minutes with our crew, explore our CCT ambulance, and get a closer look at the specialized equipment and resources we use to care for patients every day.

Building relationships with our healthcare partners isn't always about emergencies, sometimes it's about sharing a few laughs, answering questions, and creating opportunities to connect outside of patient care.

Thank you to everyone at Conway Medical Center for including us in the fun. We're proud to be part of such an incredible healthcare community and look forward to the next adventure!
