When people have a safe, affordable place to call home, our community as a whole can thrive. We are thrilled to have the support of Lowe's Home Improvement as we continue Cape Fear Habitat's Rebuild efforts to preserve the value of owner-occupied homes by making critical repairs.
Thanks to this grant, Cape Fear Habitat’s Rebuild team was able to lift homeowner, Margaret’s, home, extend the gutters to keep water away from the house, and repair the flooring in her home caused by flooding and water damage. “Not only will the safety issue of my floor be fixed, but I will have a sense of security knowing that I won’t have to move out of my house.," Margaret says. "The way conditions were, I know I couldn’t have stayed here. Thank you Cape Fear Habitat and Lowes for helping me to preserve my home.”

We are thrilled to have the support of Lowe's Home Improvement as we continue Cape Fear Habitat's Rebuild efforts to preserve the value of owner-occupied homes by making critical repairs. Thanks to this grant, homeowner Lashonda now has a new HVAC unit to heat her home as cooler weather approaches. "This repair will mean I don’t have to worry financially for the next 10-15 years about replacing the unit," Lashonda says. "I am so grateful for this opportunity to increase my quality of living."

Yesterday, MC Mortgage Group presented Cape Fear Habitat with a check for $3,000, which they were awarded for their Change the Planet project! Out of hundreds of projects submitted, their team volunteer day in our construction warehouse took first place! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this build day and contest for helping to build homes, communities and hope, and ensuring every family has a home in which to live with dignity and opportunity. We could not do it without supporters like you!
It's ! This week, Todd went on a shopping spree at our Ogden ReStore! First, he stopped by the Building Supply Warehouse to pick up some materials for his coop renovations. Afterwards, he perused the Christmas room (yes, a whole room dedicated to Christmas!) for decorations, and then browsed the houseware aisle for some new (to him) plates! He found everything he needed and more, and saved money shopping with ReStore!
Check out all three of Cape Fear Habitat's ReStore locations, located in Ogden, Monkey Junction, and Downtown on S. 3rd Street! Cape Fear Habitat ReStore

In the habitat homeownership program we offer a hand up not a hand out! Homeowners like Rene have to meet certain qualifications to join our program. They also have to do 250-400 sweat equity hours. Homeowners still have to pay an affordable mortgage when their house is finished.
