Give Thanks
As part of our week of action, we are encouraging you to give thanks today! Have you thanked a small business that you love recently? How about thanking your neighbor for them helping you in small, discrete ways? We challenge you to thank a front-line worker, non-profit volunteer, local business, agency partner, friend, neighbor, or restaurant for their services and their impact on our greater Cape Fear community! Have you thanked someone today?

Community Impact volunteers identify the most critical, unmet needs of the residents of Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover and Pender and focus available resources to create solutions that address these needs in the most efficient way possible. This year, volunteers were tasked with determining the most critical needs in the area of Health. Over the past few months, local volunteers have met, discussed, and listened to presentations to help determine how to invest your money and make the greatest Impact on the community. Thanks to these volunteers and your contributions, agencies will receive funds that can be leveraged to bring in additional funding and create even more Impact. To learn more about UWCFA, the Community Impact process or to donate, fo to uwcfa.org/donate-now/.
“Whatever community organization, whether it’s a women’s organization, or fighting for racial justice … you will get satisfaction out of doing something to give back to the community that you never get in any other way.” — Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
It's that time of year again, and the Community Impact Investment process is underway. Over the next few weeks, our Investment Team, made up entirely of local volunteers will meet to review grant applications in the area of Health. Programs that earn Community Impact funding receive a funding commitment for 3 years, providing they consistently achieve or exceed outcome requirements. UWCFA monitors these investments quarterly and reports outcomes to the community via the Seeing Results page. Visit uwcfa.org for more information!
