Check it out!

Last week Senior Community Service Employment Program of the Cape Fear Area enrolled and placed TWO more Job Seekers.🥳

Congratulations Mr. Prevatte and Mr. Reason! We're excited to see you join the Christian Recovery Centers Inc - CRCI team and look forward to updates.

Center For Workforce Inclusion

Meet the newest job seekers enrolled in the Senior Community Service Employment Program, Charles Prevatte, Jr., (left), and Douglas Reason.
Mr. Prevatte and Mr. Reason joined SCSEP March 8 and were placed in paid community service work at Christian Recovery Center, Inc., in Brunswick County. CRCI is a network of non-profit drug and alcohol treatment centers serving those suffering from and voluntarily seeking assistance for a substance abuse issue.
SCSEP is the only federally funded paid community service work, job training, and job placement assistance program exclusively for low-income individuals who are at least 55 years old and unemployed. United Way of the Cape Fear Area has been SCSEP’s local sponsor in Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, Pender, and Onlsow counties since 1977.
SCSEP is a community service and work-based job training program for older Americans operated under a U.S. Department of Labor grant. We thank the Center for Workforce Inclusion, Inc., for selecting our organization to operate SCSEP in our community.

Our CEO, Tommy Taylor, recently had the opportunity to meet with the Pine Forest Board of Directors to discuss the importance of preserving and honoring the legacy of Pine Forest Cemetery

As one of the oldest and most historic cemeteries in Wilmington, Pine Forest Cemetery serves as the final resting place for many notable individuals who have contributed to the rich history of our community. It also has a special legacy as a place intended for burying enslaved individuals and people of color.

We are honored to partner with Pine Forest Cemetery to ensure that this legacy is preserved for future generations to come. Through our partnership, we will work to maintain and enhance the cemetery's legacy.

Ms. Diana, a resident of Tabor City, NC, is in need of assistance. At 61 years old, she has limited mobility due to an extreme back issue which confines her to one room in her home. Currently she prepares meals on her porch and her 80-year-old mother provides support by driving her to necessary places and grocery shopping on her behalf.
