NHCS, the City of Wilmington, NC Government, and New Hanover County Government, NC are partnering to host a legacy graduation ceremony for Williston Senior High School classes of 1969 and 1970 on July 1, 2023.
The ceremony will be held at the Williston Middle School Gymnasium. It is an opportunity for those alumni to participate in a graduation ceremony that was denied to them over 55 years ago.

Kick off Women's History Month at the Cape Fear Museum on Sunday, March 5. Explore the history of women in aviation and learn about the life of local aerial pioneer Anna Pennington at 2:30 pm. Admission this Sunday is free for all NHC residents, students and employees.
Work is underway on the county’s Hanover Pines Nature Park, located on Carolina Beach Road! Starting on Monday, March 6 at 7 pm, construction of the turning lane coming into the new park will begin. A short section of one northbound lane will be closed in the 6100 block of Carolina Beach Road (across from the Exxon Gas Station and Fish Bites).
The closure will occur nightly between 7 pm - 6 am through March 23. Minimal traffic impacts are expected, but drivers should be aware when traveling through this area.

The #NHCgov Health & Human Services mailroom handles over 1,000 pieces of mail each week, with time-sensitive and confidential documents. The Office of Strategy and HHS teams worked together on an innovative process improvement last year that ensured fast and efficient mail delivery, typically within one and a half hours of receipt, that earned a Best in Category award for County Administration and Management in the 2021 National Association of Counties Achievement Awards.
