On October 22, 2026, the Nicholasville Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division arrested Chad Gossett following a multi-state investigation involving crimes against children.

Gossett was charged with five counts of Unlawful Use of Electronic Means to Induce a Minor to Engage in Sexual or Other Prohibited Activities (KRS 510.155).

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Marcus Police Department in Marcus, Iowa, and the Grayson County Sheriff's Office in Sherman, Texas.

Both agencies conducted thorough investigations that were instrumental in identifying Gossett's activities and ultimately leading to his arrest in Wilmore.

Their investigative efforts, attention to detail, and willingness to work with our department played a key role in bringing these cases together.

We would also like to thank the Wilmore Police Department for their assistance in taking Gossett into custody.

This case highlights the importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies across state lines and their shared commitment to protecting children.

The Wilmore Arts and Crafts Festival is this Saturday from 9:00 am - 4 pm.

E. Main St. will be closed to vehicular traffic at 6:00 am to allow the vendors time to set their booths up. Detours signs will be in place to direct drivers around the area.

To downtown residents who park on E. Main St., please make sure your vehicles are moved by 6:00 am Saturday morning. The last thing we want to do is to have to tow anyone's car.

The following intersections/locations will be closed for the festival:
- E. Main at Rice. St.
- E. Main at N. Maple
- E. Main at S. Maple

Parking will be available at the Granary on E. Main St. near the railroad crossing. Parking is also available on the side streets in the area. DO NOT park in a fire lane or any area marked "No Parking."

ROAD CLOSURE for Thursday Night Market

East Main St. will be closed this Thursday, September 17, beginning at 4:00 pm to allow the vendors participating in the Night Market event to set up.

The event begins at 6:00 pm and lasts until 8:00 pm.

East Main will be closed between N. Maple St. and Rice St. Access to East Main from all connecting side streets and alleys in the area will be also closed.

Detour signs will be in place to direct you around the area of the closure.

Parking will be available at the Granary, located on E. Main St. near the railroad crossing.

Parking is also available on the side streets in the area. DO NOT park in a fire lane or any area marked “No Parking.”

A NEW TRADITION OF SERVICE 🇺🇸

The City of Wilmore is proud to announce the formation of the Wilmore Joint Agency Honor Guard—a collaboration between the Wilmore Fire Department and Wilmore Police Department.

Bringing together members of both agencies, the Joint Agency Honor Guard will represent the City of Wilmore at times when honor, dignity, and respect matter most. The team will serve at funerals, memorial services, ceremonies, civic events, and other occasions where our community and public safety family come together.

This collaboration reflects something bigger than either agency alone: a shared commitment to serve, protect, and honor our community and those who have dedicated their lives to doing the same.
