City of Wilsey, Kansas Wilsey was named after pioneer John D. Wilsey. Wilsey was Incorporated in 1910.

In the early 1880s, the Missouri Pacific Railroad was built through the county, at which time Wilsey established the city.

Monthly siren test … all good!

With the big storm cleanup complete, the city will resume normal hours at the burn pile beginning 7/18/26, the gate will be closed at 6 pm. And will resume normal hours the following Friday.

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION ***

City workers are uncovering the sewer line manholes to allow our sewer line cleaning to begin on July 15th and will continue through July 17th Please drive safely as some of these manholes are deep In The road.

Please place all brush on the West end of the burn pile.

DO NOT dump brush or limbs on the backside (North side)

The pile has been pushed up more, and away from the tall weeds on the north side. This makes it easier to maneuver around for everyone.

***UPDATE***
Sirens have been fixed 😁😁

I was informed our siren is not activating. They may try testing it this afternoon and possibly tomorrow. We may hear the sirens going on and off. with the possibility of storms again on Saturday they are doing everything they can to get it back up and running properly.
