Panther Parent Announcements 5-24-26

School is closed for students and staff on Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day.

On Tuesday, our Grades 3–5 End-of-Grade (EOG) score reports will be sent home with students. Students who did not pass their EOG assessment will participate in targeted remediation and retakes this week. Yes, students will have another opportunity to retake the test to improve their scores. Students will retake their EOGs May 27-29. The specific schedule will be sent home on Tuesday with their test scores.

Though we are in the last full week of school, teaching and learning have not stopped. Teachers are using information gathered from end-of-year assessments to continue teaching, support student growth, and prepare students for a strong start next school year.

We are asking ALL students to be especially mindful of their classmates during this important time by:

🐾 Keeping voices low

🐾 Staying on task

🐾 Respecting the learning space of others

🐾 Following the procedures and rules of both the classroom and testing environment

Greetings Vick Parents and Students,

This is Dr. Lott, assistant principal of Vick Elementary School, with an important announcement regarding Grades 3-5 EOG Testing. We want to thank you for a phenomenal first day of EOG testing. We had near-perfect attendance among students across grade levels today, and we hope to carry that momentum into tomorrow, Thursday, May 21st!

Tomorrow, Thursday, May 21st, students in grades 3-5 will take their Reading EOGs. On Friday, students in 5th grade will take their Science EOGs. Again, EOG Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 AM on each testing day. Students who arrive later than 8:30 AM will be required to take make-up testing on a later date. Students are not allowed to enter a live testing session after testing has started.

We encourage students to get plenty of rest and to arrive early enough to eat breakfast before testing begins. Research shows that students who are well-rested, well-fed, hydrated, and relaxed outperform their peers on standardized testing. Thank you again in advance for your continued support. We look forward to seeing our students again, bright and early, tomorrow morning. This concludes our announcement. Thank you for listening.

Shoutout to the Class of 2026!

Yesterday, graduates from Beddingfield High and Hunt High walked the halls of Vick Elementary, inspiring our Panthers with their incredible achievement. Our students cheered them on, and we’re so proud of each graduate! What made it extra special? Some of these graduates once walked these same halls as elementary students. A full-circle moment! Congratulations to all Beddingfield, Hunt, and Wilson County Schools grads. Your future is bright, and we are so proud!
