Wilson Community College Career Exploration, Health Sciences Camp. For rising 6th graders to gradating high school seniors. Monday, July 7 - Wednesday, July 9, 2026; 1pm - 3pm. $65 fee.
This will give the students the opportunity to explore various roles in healthcare careers. Space is limited -- register now! Fees may be waived for qualifying participants. Face-to-face students have received a copy of their EOG scores. They are on a green sheet of paper.

Friday, May 29, face-to-face and virtual students in grades 3-8 will take the ELA retest. This is a change from our previous schedule.
On June 1st, students will take their math retest, and on June 2nd, students will take their science retest.

June 3rd is the last day for students, and students will be released at 12:30. Report Cards will be available for pick up on June 22.

Friday, May 29, face-to-face and virtual students in grades 3-8 will take the ELA retest. This is a change from our previous schedule.

Also on Friday, Bus 134 will not run. Bus 223 will run late and will start the route around 6:55 AM.

Bus 160 will also not run in the afternoon on Friday. Bus 241 will be on standby to run a late bus around 4:30.

Please try to arrange transportation to and from school on Friday, May 29th, for those students.

Good evening, Daniels Eagles
This is Samantha Charles-Dixon, Principal of Daniels Learning Center, calling with an important announcement.

Tomorrow, May 25th, is a holiday and there will be no school for students and staff. I am so proud of our students and the effort they put forth during the first round of EOG testing. Letters with the students' scores and retest dates will be sent home on Tuesday, May 27th.
Tuesday through Thursday of this week, our face-to-face 6th- 8th-grade students will have remediation to prepare for the upcoming retest.

ELA EOG testing for virtual 3rd-8th-grade students will be on Tuesday, May 26th. The math EOG for 3rd-8th virtual students will be on May 27th. On May 28th, 5th & 8th virtual students will take their science EOG.

Students must arrive on campus by 7:15 am. You are reminded that ALL students must follow our safety protocols. Please be sure to remind your students to come with their Chromebook charged and charger each day of testing. All virtual students will need a ride to and from school on the days of testing.

Also, please make sure our students get a good night's rest the night before each test and a good breakfast in the morning.

Students who do not score a level 3 or higher on their EOGs will have an opportunity to get a passing score by retesting.

Thursday is Math EOG. Please make sure that your student arrives by 7:30am (doors open at 7:15am). Students should be getting to bed early so they are well rested. All chromebooks must be fully charged. Chargers should be brought with the student.
Remember to Take a deep breath, go with the flow, Just do your best and show what you know!

Good Evening,

This is Samantha Charles-Dixon, Principal of Daniels Learning Center, calling to remind our families that tomorrow, May 20, our face-to-face students will begin taking their EOGs. Parents, please make sure our students go to bed early this evening so that they get a good night's rest. Students will need to come to school with their Chromebook charged and their charger.

The students should arrive on campus at 7:15 AM to eat breakfast and report to their testing location.

We wish our students the best of luck. They have been working hard, especially over the last few weeks, to prepare, and I am sure they are going to show us how much they have grown this year. Please send your student to school tomorrow with an encouraging word to help get them off to a great start to their day.

We, the Daniels Learning Center family would like to thank Officer Pate for her service to students and staff. While she was here for a short time, her impact was great. We wish her well on her all her future endeavors. Once an eagle always an eagle.

NIGHT BEFORE THE TEST: Charge your Chromebook; Look over all your notes for the test the next day; Go to bed at a time that allows you 8-10 hours of sleep;
BE ON TIME FOR SCHOOL!
TESTING DAY/during the test: Read the questions completely; DON'T RUSH! Take your time; and, Answer all the questions.
If you feel anxious - Relax your entire body from head to toe. Take deep breathes through your nose, hold it for 5 seconds, and exhale through your mouth. Do this at least 5 - 10 times to get yourself reset and regulated.

Good evening, Daniels Eagles,
This is Samantha Charles-Dixon, Principal of Daniels Learning Center, calling with this week’s announcements. The time has come for our students to show us how much they’ve grown. On Wednesday, May 20th, our 6th-8th-grade face-to-face students will take their English Language Arts EOG. On Thursday, the face-to-face students will take their Math EOG, and on Friday, May 23, the face-to-face 8th-grade students will take their science EOG. Parents, ALL of our face-to-face students need to arrive at school by 7:15AM on each of these days to make sure we start the assessments on time.

Also, please make sure our students get a good night's rest the night before each test and a good breakfast in the morning.

Virtual elementary and middle school students will begin their assessments next week on May 26.
