As the school year come to an end we are celebrating our 2026 Wilson County 4-H Scholarship Recipients!
We are so exciting as we announce this year’s scholarship winners! These five young leaders represent the very best of Wilson County 4-H, showing us all what it means to lead with "Head, Heart, Hands, and Health."
Eli Kicklighter (Hunt High School, 11th grade)
Nahunta Feed Supply Scholarship, Wilson Co. Young Farmers , & Walter Earle Scholarship
Eli’s 12-year 4-H journey has been nothing short of remarkable. From serving as County President to earning state medals in everything from Animal Science to Photography, he has left a lasting mark on our program. As stated, Eli possesses a "level of maturity, drive, and leadership far beyond his years." He eventually plans to attend NC State University to study Engineering. We can’t wait to see what he does next!
Logan Ballance (Wilson Christian Academy, 12th grade)
Wilson Co. Young Farmers Scholarship & Connie Jernigan Scholarship
A true pillar of our community, Logan has served as County Council President and shown excellence in the show ring and the classroom. Described as a lady with a "kind heart and sweet spirit," Logan’s dedication earned her the prestigious WRAL Extra Effort Award. She plans to pursue a degree in Agribusiness at NC State , continuing her commitment to the industry she loves.
Kate Hinnant (Wilson Early College Academy, 11th grade)
Wilson Co. Young Farmers Scholarship& Gov. & Mrs. Hunt Scholarship
Kate has spent a decade serving others, most recently as our Wilson County 4-H Secretary. Her nominators describe her as the "kindest, most caring, and hardworking student," qualities she brings to both her 4-H projects and her studies at Wilson Early College Academy. Kate excels at academics and will continue her journey at Wilson Community College as she works toward her future career goals.
Alyson Sharp (Southern Nash High School, 12th grade)
Mark Batts Memorial Scholarship
Alyson’s 10 years in 4-H have been defined by service and a "get-it-done" attitude. Whether she’s leading the Rock Ridge 4-H Club or working at Deans Farm Market, her "genuine passion for agriculture and community service" shines through. She plans to attend NCSU in the fall. Alyson is determined to be a leader for women in the Agriculture Industry, and with her work ethic, we know she will succeed!
Savannah Comstock
Ellis & Kathy Williford Scholarship
Savannah is the definition of a well-rounded leader. Between serving as a club officer, captaining her volleyball team, and caring for her livestock, she has developed a "strong work ethic" that sets her apart. Savannah is taking a smart path toward her dream of becoming a Speech Language Pathologist, starting at Wilson Community College before transferring to East Carolina University.
