Today was a beautiful day of celebration as we dedicated a new home for Tonya Pitt and her mother, Maryann Silver. Surrounded by family, volunteers, community members, local leaders, and our board members, we had the joy of placing keys in their hands and welcoming them home.

This is why we do what we do.

A home is more than walls and a roof. It is stability. It is hope. It is a fresh start. We pray that God richly blesses Tonya and Maryann in their new home and everyone who walks through their doors in the years to come.

Thank you to every supporter, donor, volunteer, and partner who made this house possible. Your generosity and hard work are changing lives right here in our community.

Hal Tarleton was also the Executive Director at Wilson Area Habitat for Humanity from 2012 - 2017 and was a member of the Board of Directors for many years prior. He was a fine man and an asset to this organization and community. Our prayers go out to all of his family and friends.

Former Wilson Times reporters remember former editor Hal Tarleton, who died Sunday, as a tough, well-respected journalist and mentor whose standards and community focus still shape their work.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Will Jenkins and the team at Bill’s Grill for their generosity and support of Habitat for Humanity during Habitat Awareness Day back in December.

Thanks to their commitment to giving back—and to everyone who chose to dine at Bill’s Grill that day—we raised $525 to support building safe, affordable homes right here in Wilson County.

Every meal truly made a difference, and we are so grateful to partner with local businesses that invest in our community and help families build a better future.

Huge thanks to the great folks at Bill's Grill on Nash for hosting yesterday's fundraiser! We had a great crowd and felt the love and support for Habitat.

We will be completing our current home build within the next couple of weeks and hope to start our next house very soon. This truly is a community effort and we are blessed to serve the people of Wilson County. Merry Christmas and thanks to you all!
