I find the initial line of the resolution below somewhat perplexing. According to my understanding, a permit is required solely for the sale of fireworks, while the supplementary provisions pertain to the detonation of fireworks. Prior to this resolution, the detonation of fireworks was prohibited and could have resulted in a fine. This resolution permits the detonation of fireworks between the specified dates and times. The clause below was extracted from the city council minutes and represents a rough draft prior to its inclusion in the city ordinance book. I hope this clarifies matters. Chief Coley

On Tuesday Assistant Chief Robinson was on patrol on Highway 70a when he witnessed a man on a mini bike run the stop sign at 70a and Birch. Robinson activated emergency lights and attempted to stop the man on the bike. The man then drove into a yard and removed a green bag from his waist band and threw it. The person on the bike then stopped and walked back to Assistant Chief Robinson. The person was placed in handcuffs while the bag was retrieved. Inside the bag was a large amount of Methamphetamine that later field tested positive, and a scale. The person was arrested and booked into the Carter County jail for distribution of Methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
