๐Ÿ† WE DID IT! EVERY MILE, EVERY ROAD! ๐Ÿ†

As of today, every single mile of every road in our community is officially clean! (except one tiny spot that will be done this weekend!)

Weโ€™ll be honestโ€”thereโ€™s a bit of frustration in having to do this year after year. We all wish for a world where we didn't have to spend our weekends picking up after others. Itโ€™s a tough job, and itโ€™s okay to acknowledge that it shouldn't be necessary.

But here is the BEAUTIFUL PART: While we may not ever have a town without any litter, we have a town full of PEOPLE with the PASSION to do something about it.

To the volunteers who showed up with grit and gloves: Thank you for choosing to make our corner of the world better, mile by mile. Your dedication proves that COMMUNITY SPIRIT is stronger than any mess.

๐Ÿ’– A Huge Shout-Out To:

The "Year-After-Year" Crew: Our tireless neighbors who never say no to a challenge.

The "New Participants": who jumped in and joined the community spirit.

Every Resident: Who cheered us on or grabbed a bag.

Letโ€™s carry this pride forward. Our roads are clear, our spirits are high, and our town looks amazing because of YOU!

MID WEEK CHECK-IN: Which roads are still in need of cleanup?

Weโ€™ve made INCREDIBLE progress this week, but our goal is 100% coverage. You know your daily commute and neighborhood routes better than anyoneโ€”where are the spots that still need some love and attention?

Drop a comment with a specific road or intersection that still needs love.

If you have 30 minutes to grab a blue bag and clear a specific stretch, let us know! Supplies are ready at Town Hall, the Library, the Post Office and the Recycling Center.

We've covered so much ground - help us close the gap on these final miles. It takes every neighbor to clean every mile!

A surprise call led to a MAJOR WIN for Wilton's road cleanup yesterday!

A huge shoutout to the crew from High Mowing School who reached out looking for a way to celebrate our community. They tackled a scenic loop from their school down through historic Dwight Rd, up Captain Clark, over Potter, and back down Abbot Hill.

Not only did they leave our roadsides sparkling, but they got a front-row seat to some of the most beautiful stretches of road in town. Some spots were freshly cleaned territory, while others got a much-needed second sweep.

Thank you, High Mowing, for the hard work and the great spirit! ๐Ÿ’™

CAUGHT IN THE ACT โ€” doing good deeds! ๐Ÿ’™

This dynamic duo tackled Dale Street from Curtis Farm all the way to the Lyndeborough town line, and Wilton is looking better for it. This is what hard work and community love looks like.

And here's why it matters: litter doesn't just look bad โ€” it washes into our streams, harms wildlife, and sends a message about who we are as a community. When neighbors like these two give up their time to clean our roads, they are protecting our environment, preserving our property values, and saying loud and clear that Wilton is a place people care about.

That is something worth celebrating.

Thank you, Mike and Shana, for showing up and going all in. You make us proud.

61 bags. SIXTY-ONE BAGS!

Eight volunteers spent 3ยฝ hours on Route 31 headed to Greenville yesterday, and the results speak for themselves. That is an extraordinary amount of work โ€” and an extraordinary amount of stuff that is no longer on our roads.

This paired with the work of Kimball Physics this past week has the road in tip top shape!

Wilton, we've got some serious heroes in our midst.

Thank you to this crew for showing up and going all in.

TWO WEEKS of talking about it.

Today we actually do it.

You've seen the forerunners. You've watched your neighbors hit the roads early, leading the way. Now it's the main event โ€” and the star is YOU.

Wilton's spring roadside cleanup is officially underway! Grab a bag, pick a road, and go make your stretch of Wilton sparkle.
It doesn't take long. It doesn't take much. It just takes you โ€” and every neighbor doing their little bit is how every mile gets clean.

Today's the day โ€” let's go! Bags are available at the Recycling Center, Town Hall, Post Office and Library!

MASON ROAD is not an easy stretch.

But Denise and Ken Jacobus showed up anyway โ€” tackled one of its messier sections, and when they were done, they didn't head home. They emailed and asked what else they could do.

THIS IS WILTON!

Feeling inspired? Blue bags are available at Town Hall, the Recycling Center, the Post Office, and the Library โ€” and right now the weather is actually on your side. Chilly yes, but no black flies or mosquitoes yet!

It takes every neighbor to clean every mile.

SHOUTOUT to the Eatons!

This family finished their assigned cleanup area in downtown Wilton โ€” and then asked for more. When we suggested tackling the super messy stretch of trash across from Dollar General in MILFORD, they said yes without hesitation.

That spot matters. It's one of the first things people see when they drive into the area, and plenty of visitors assume they're already in Wilton. Thanks to these neighbors, it's going to get a cleanup โ€” and make a really great first impression on our town's entrance.

We're so grateful to each of you going above and beyond to show your community pride and help our environment!

FIRST-TIMER FAQ:

We've gotten some great questions from new participants โ€” and we love it! We answered everyone directly, but wanted to share the answers here for all first-timers (and anyone who's just wondering how this works).

WHATE DO I DO WITH THE BLUE BAGS WHEN I'M DONE?
Bring them to the Wilton Recycling Center. Just let the attendant know you're from Wilton and participating in the cleanup. They're enthusiastic supporters of this project โ€” and there's no charge for disposal.

DO I NEED TO SORT THE TRASH OR RECYCLE IT?
Nope! You do not need to sort or recycle roadside waste. Some people choose to, but it's absolutely not required. Let's be honest โ€” this stuff is gross, and it belongs to someone else. The fact that you're picking it up at all means you're already going above and beyond.

CAN I DROP OFF BAGS NOW OR DO I HAVE TO WAIT?
Great news โ€” the Recycling Center is happy to accept blue bags now and even after the official cleanup dates. So go at your own pace!

WHERE CAN I PICK UP BAGS?
The Wilton Post Office, Library, Recycling Center and Town Hall all have a well stocked supply of blue bags.

Never done a roadside cleanup before? There's truly no better time to start. Grab some blue bags, pick a road you love (or one that drives you craziest!), and make a difference in our community. Every bag counts!
