This Saturday October 24th is DEA National Drug Take Back Day, a nationwide effort to prevent unused or expired medications from being misused or ending up in the wrong hands.

Our department participates in this effort year‑round because safe medication disposal protects families, reduces accidental poisonings, and helps keep our community safe. To support that mission, we maintain a publicly accessible drug disposal bin in our lobby, available 24/7/365. No questions asked.

We’re grateful to our residents for taking proactive steps to dispose of medications responsibly. Your participation strengthens community safety every single day.

You don’t need to wait for a special event: when you’re ready to clear out your medicine cabinet, simply stop by our lobby and drop unwanted medications in the disposal bin. Helping keep our community safe starts with small actions like this.

Yesterday, October 15, the Wilton Police Department was proud to join the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) at Tusk & Cup in Wilton in recognition of Purple Thursday and Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Throughout Wilton, local businesses are helping spread awareness by placing special domestic violence awareness sleeves on their coffee cups. These small but meaningful gestures help start important conversations, show support for survivors, and remind our community that no one should face domestic violence alone.

A special thank you to Tusk & Cup and all the participating Wilton businesses for helping bring this important message into our community, one cup of coffee at a time.

Purple Thursday is about more than wearing a color. It’s about standing together, raising awareness, promoting healthy relationships, and reminding those affected by domestic violence that help and support are available.

The Wilton Police Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Officer Graham O’Gorman to the rank of Detective.

Since joining the department in September 2018, Detective O’Gorman has demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving the Wilton community. Throughout his career, he has received three Life Saving Awards and has played an important role in several significant criminal investigations.

For the past 10 months, Detective O’Gorman has served as an Acting Detective, earning the respect of his colleagues through his investigative skills, persistence, and teamwork. During this time, he also introduced the now proudly adopted name “Detective Squad” to the bureau.

During today’s promotion ceremony, surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues, Detective O’Gorman was presented with his new badge by his wife.

Please join us in congratulating Detective O’Gorman on this well-deserved promotion! We look forward to his continued contributions to the department and the Wilton community as an official member of the Detective Squad!

Today, members of the Wilton Police Department were honored to receive recognition from the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association for our commitment to promoting officer health and wellness.

This recognition is part of the “Serve Well, Be Well” initiative, which highlights the importance of supporting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of law enforcement officers.

We are proud to receive this recognition and remain committed to fostering a healthy, supportive environment for the dedicated men and women who serve and protect our community.

We extend our gratitude to all of our community members who took time out of their day to join us for National Coffee with a Cop Day! ☕️

We would also like to thank our local Dunkin’ for generously hosting this wonderful event and helping us create an opportunity for meaningful conversations between our officers and the community.
