🌽 This Saturday, we're excited to feed the farmers in Martelle, IA!

This Saturday, October 10th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Anamosa FFA Chapter is serving up a FREE meal to thank our area farmers for all their hard work this harvest season, and we're proud to host them at our Martelle location!

📍 River Valley Cooperative – Martelle
24528 Co Rd E45, Martelle, IA 52305

On the menu: pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, chips, corn, drinks, and desserts. 🍽️

All farming families are welcome, and no RSVP is needed. Just stop by, grab a plate, and take a well-deserved break. See you there! 🚜

On the farm, it dries grain and even kills weeds. In town, it fuels school buses and food trucks. Up above, it lifts hot air balloons. We're grateful for all the ways propane keeps our communities warm, working, and moving.

🍀 Happy National 4-H Week! 🍀

We're kicking off our celebration with Riley Leka, Administrative Specialist in our Energy Department in Clinton!

"The thing I loved most about 4-H is the friends I met going from show to show all summer long, and seeing my hard work with my lambs pay off with a blue ribbon." 🐑

Riley says 4-H built confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills, and showed the value of a career in agriculture. Thanks for sharing your story, Riley! 💚

💛 Let's hear it for Dan Morris, our Star of the Month!

If you've worked alongside Dan, you know why he got this one. When a teammate has a question about leak tests or relighting a pilot, Dan's phone is usually the first to ring. No matter how busy he is, he always takes the time to help.

And busy he was! Dan carried two routes for most of summer fill season. On days a coworker came out to help, he'd go over their route each morning before heading out on his own, so their deliveries would go smoothly. That's Dan: always thinking about the people around him.

He also helps train our new hires. He shares what he knows about the road and the computer side with patience and care.

His coworker Zakk said it best: Dan is essential. We're so lucky to have him in the River Valley family. 🙌

Congratulations, Dan, you've more than earned it! 🎉

Umbrellas Up, Shovels Down at Low Moor Location! 🚜

River Valley Cooperative broke ground on a new liquid crop protection mixing facility in the middle of a downpour at our Low Moor, Iowa, location. Thank you to our cooperative leaders, Low Moor team, and Greystone Construction Company for joining us to kick off this project.

Here's what's coming:
🔹 27,500 sq. ft. building (100' x 275')
🔹 150,000 gal. indoor storage, expandable to 240,000
🔹 384,000 gal. outdoor containment storage, expandable to double
🔹 Future 1,000,000-gal. UAN tank

The facility will be highly automated. Operators will be able to run the loading system from the control room or from a tablet right beside the truck they're loading.

The facility is expected to be complete by March 2027 and in full production for spring. We can't wait to put it to work for our customers!

🐷 Fun Fact Friday!

October is National Pork Month, so Frankie Dolan, Crop Specialist at our Ryan location, is sharing a fun fact about the connection between Iowa corn and pork production!

Did you know approximately 17% of the corn harvested in Iowa stays right here in Iowa? Much of that corn helps feed the livestock that make Iowa a leader in pork production.

From the field to the feed bunk, Iowa corn plays an important role in putting pork on our plates! 🌽
