The Texas High School Coaches Association released its latest batch of “Super Elite” teams for the spring sports and 9 from Wimberley HS were honored.
Emma Durkin and Cameron Thames were on the girls soccer team, Dane Mignerey was on the boys track and field list, Kate Carson, Kennedy Carson, Marcus Gonzales, Branton Kirchner, and Gus Moore were on the tennis team, and Alex Abrusley was named to the baseball team.

We're sending a shoutout to the four rising Wimberley HS seniors who spent some of their summer break at Boys State and Girls State. The week-long leadership and citizenship program is where high school students build and run a mock government, develop leadership skills, and gain a firsthand understanding of how local, county, and state government works.
John Gallagher, Jack Malone, and Rhett Rosborough attended Boys State at the University of Texas at Austin from June 7-12, and Ellie Jennings went to Girls State from June 14-20 at Texas Lutheran University.
We're thrilled each of you got to experience this great opportunity!

We missed one!
Last week when we posted a batch of Wimberley Texan coaches who were recognized as Texas High School Coaches Association Regional Coaches of the Year, we left off WHS Texan Tennis Coach Brett Robbins, who was recognized as the 4A Head Coach of the Year for both boys and girls! For the second year in a row, WHS tied for the most match wins at the State Tennis Tournament this spring and won a state championship (Carson twins in girls doubles). Congratulations Coach Robbins!

Shout out to rising WHS senior Quinn Jennings and Class of '26 graduates Walker Williams and Emma Schmidt who are currently in Virginia competing at the National Speech and Debate Tournament. At this point Quinn has advanced through to the final 60 competitors (out of 266!) in Dramatic Interpretation and Walker competed in Program Oral Interpretation and will compete in Prose as well. Emma starts her Poetry competition on Wednesday.

Wimberley HS ended the 2025-26 year 2nd in the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association's (THSADA) Texas Cup. The program awards schools points by final placement in district, regional and state athletic competition with a graduated system of points as a team advances in competition beyond district play. The points are ONLY awarded on athletics results, which makes it a bit different than UIL's Lone Star Cup. Congratulations on a great year Texans!

Good news, Wimberley families! WYSA Football registration has been extended, but we need your help getting the word out. Registration numbers are still low, and every signup matters to help ensure all of our teams meet the qualifications needed for the season.
