I have structured my tenure as Justice of the Peace under the motto of “community justice” In this effort, I have created an office that serves specifically to the needs of the Wimberley community. During my time in office, I have worked to improve relations with the Wimberley Independent School District to bring in the students missing school and assists in facilitating resolution to get these st
udents back in the classroom. My office has been significantly instrumental in recovering restitution of hot checks for community businesses. Before taking office, these checks were filed with the District Attorney’s offices. Local businesses have appreciated being able to file these checks locally and collect on the restitution much faster than in the past. Additionally, I have tightened up on the enforcement of deed restrictions. My impartial rulings in the courtroom have put the property rights back in the hands of the property owners in eviction cases. I operate my office in an organized but minimal manner in order to maintain accountability of taxpayer dollars and utilize my office for the betterment of the Wimberley community and Hays County. I was elected in 1998 to my first term as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 of Hays County. Precinct 3 is located in the southwestern part of Hays County. This area includes the city of Wimberley, the City of Woodcreek, the communities of Rolling Oaks, Driftwood, river Mountain Ranch, Summer Mountain Ranch, Falcon Wood, Saddleridge, Burnett Ranch, Ledgerock and Hill Country Ranches. Precinct 3 borders both Comal Country and Blanco County as well as has four major thoroughfares: State Highway 3237, 2325, RR12 and RR32. I graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1992 and received my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. In 2007 I furthered my education and received my Masters in Criminal Justice from Texas State University and I am certified in Alternate Dispute Resolution for civil and family disputes. As lead mediator for Omni Dispute Resolution, I specialize in local government, city, county and state disputes, Real Estate Disputes, Deed Restrictions Disputes, Deceptive Trade Practices and Landlord/Tenant Disputes. I have adjudicated over 8,000 cases involving similar disputes. I have extensive courses and accredited hours in real estate law, finance, and deed restriction. I maintain my real estate license, am a licensed intensive corrections officer and certified in commercial banking. I have proudly served as your Justice of the Peace. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to continue serving Hays County and its citizens.
