On behalf of the Winamac Police Department, we are saddened to hear of the loss of retired Chief of Police Jeffrey Heims.

Jeff served the community in law enforcement for over 25 years. During his tour, he held the ranks of Patrolman, Sergeant, and Chief of Police at the Winamac Police Department. Jeff was also the D.A.R.E Officer for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeff strived for excellence as an officer, graduating the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1989 finishing 5/100 in his class. He was a Fi****ms Instructor and completed multiple courses from river rescue, to crime scene technician school, to several specialized interviewing schools.

Jeff will be missed by his family and friends.

If the rain comes as projected, fireworks will be rescheduled to Sunday, July 5th, at sundown.

If the rain delays the 5th, fireworks will be the following Friday, July 10th at sundown.

The Winamac Police Department is pleased to announce that a LATERAL OFFICER PROCESS will be opening!

In reference to the car show Saturday May 9th!

The following streets will be closed:
Pearl St from Monticello to Logan St
Main St from Monticello to Logan St
Market St from Spring St to Meridian St
Main St from Logan St to the Town Parking Lot (Depot)

There will be food trucks and hopefully some nice weather!

The car show coordinator asks that vehicle be off the designated streets by 11pm tonight 5/8 until tomorrow 5/9 at 5pm.
