Join us for An Evening with the Friends Puzzle Race!

The Friends of the Beals Memorial Library invite the community to their annual meeting. Come enjoy an update on Friends activities, learn about the upcoming events, and how you can support the library.

🧩About the Puzzle Race: 🧩
How fast can you finish a puzzle? Find out at our puzzle race! Teams of 2-4 people will race to see who can assemble a 500-piece puzzle first.

Think a 500-piece puzzle is too easy? We challenge you to try a 1000-piece puzzle.

This event is FREE and for all ages! Spectators are welcomed!

Last night at the Board of Selectmen meeting we announce our 2026 Community Survey and Focus Groups.

As the Beals Memorial Library looks to the future, we want to gather feedback and ideas from Winchendon residents regarding how the library is currently serving the community and how we can improve our offerings.

The input of community members, both library users and non-users, are crucial to the development of our long-range strategic plan for 2027–2031.

We want the library to continue to be a valuable resource and a welcoming space for everyone in the community.

The Friends of the Beals Memorial Library Presents

Springtime English Tea & Celtic Music Concert

Saturday, April 11th | 11:00am-1:00pm

Dust off your fascinators and reserve your spot for a traditional English Tea luncheon while enjoying a lively Celtic concert.

Tickets:
$25 for Adults 18+
$12 for youth 10-17 years old
This event is not geared towards younger audiences.

Limited space available, purchase your tickets by visiting the library by April 6th.

This is a Friends of the Library fundraiser event and all funds raised will support future programs and events at the Beals Memorial Library

The Friends of the Beals Memorial Library held their first annual Valentine Cook Sale on Valentines Day (February 14th) at the library. 🩷

We are excited to share that it was an huge success and we are thankful for everyone who supported and bought cookies. Over 800 cookies were sold with 380 preordered cookies.

All proceeds go to future library programs & events.

Friends of the Library's Valentine’s Cookie Fundraiser

The Friends of the Beals Memorial Library in Winchendon are warming up their ovens to create Valentine-themed sweets! The Bake Sale fundraiser will be held through Saturday, February 14th, and offer buyers the opportunity to purchase cookies in a variety of delicious flavors. These beautifully boxed baked goods can be given as gifts or kept for yourself as a guilty pleasure.

Cookies may be pre-ordered by the dozen at $10.00 each, or two baker’s dozens (26 cookies) at $20.00.

Order forms can be downloaded from the Beals Library website at bealslibrary.org/friends or picked up at the library.

Once the order form has been filled out, buyers can either email their orders to Paula Whitaker at [email protected] or drop them off at the library’s circulation desk.

Order forms are due by Monday, February 9th.

Buyers may also stop by the Friends Book Sale on the ground floor of the Beals Library on Saturday, February 14, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and buy their cookies then.

Payments are made when the cookies are picked up, and the Friends accept cash, check, or Venmo payments.

The boxed dozens include:
- Peanut Blossoms: Peanut butter cookies with a variety of chocolate kisses on top.
- Scotch Shortbread: Round-shaped, frosted shortbread with a cherry on top.
- Stenciled Cookie: Heart-shaped butter cookies with stenciled heart-shaped sprinkles on top.
- Raspberry Almond: Rich, buttery Scandinavian, melt-in-your-mouth tradition.
- M+M Valentine Sugar Cookie: Heart-shaped cookies with white or milk chocolate swirled on half of it and dotted with M+M’s.
- Chocolate Peppermint Splash: Chocolate cookie with pink frosting and crushed peppermint on top.
- Variety Pack: An assortment of each cookie featured above.

All proceeds from the Friends of the Library Valentine’s Cookie Bake Sale fundraiser will benefit future library programs.

ITS THAT TIME AGAIN! SANTA IS COMING TO THE LIBRARY! 🎅

JOIN US FOR OUR 3RD ANNUAL SENSORY-FRIENDLY SANTA VISIT!!

📆Saturday, December 13 ⏰11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
❄[Snow Date: Sunday, December 14th]

Limited Space Available, Registration Required.
Registration starts November 10th.

About the Event: Santa will be meeting individuals (regardless of age) who are neurodivergent, on the autism spectrum, or have other special needs, and their families.

Families get to enjoy 10 minutes with Santa in a separate sensory friendly room to share their wishes and snap festive photos. Participants are also invited to participate in a holiday craft, listen to stories, and receive a winter themed book. Enjoy delicious baked goods provided by the Friends Beals Memorial of the Library.

The Town of Winchendon is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the part time position of Library Technician at the Beals Memorial Library.

- Hours: 19.5 hours per week
- Salary Range: $19.12 - $21.11 per hour
