I am very pleased and honored to announce that the Wi******er VFW Post 3968 has been selected to host this year's annual POW/MIA observance ceremony September 20, 2026.
The ceremony itself will take place at 10 AM, in front of the Town Hall, the same place we do the Memorial Day service every year.
We will have a light lunch following the ceremony at the VFW Post Pavilion.
I encourage everyone to attend, veterans especially as these are our brothers whom are unaccounted for still.

Attention all VFW members and members of the VFW Auxiliary!
Sunday the 16th of August, The Wi******er VFW Post 3968 will be hosting the District five quarterly meeting.
That means we will be seeing old friends from around Cheshire county and beyond. And welcoming new friends.
The VFW and Aux business meetings will take place at 10AM.
We will have a small brunch to follow out back at the pavilion.
All members are encouraged to join us.

Reminder, the VFW Post 3968 will have our monthly meat raffle next Saturday, August 15 at 6:30.
We are getting geared up to make it the best ever.
Kulick's Market is providing the prize packages and the variety will knock your socks off!

Prize packages subject to change depending on availability. All hands 2 dollars- unless otherwise specified.

3. Breakfast package: 1 # breakfast sausage, 1 # bacon, 1 Dozen eggs, hash browns
4. 2.5 # Ground chuck, Pasta, bag o’ salad, spaghetti sauce, bread
5. 3 # boneless pork chops, potato, broccoli, apple sauce

7. Sandwich package: 1 # sliced ham, 1 # sliced turkey, rolls, mustard, mayo, chips
8. 2 # Sirloin steak, macaroni salad, summer squash

Today was a good day. Seemed like old times.
BTW we will do it again next Saturday. Come on down all you zombies and support our efforts!

Don't forget about the District picnic on August 16. i will put it on the sign soon. Lunch for all the Auxiliary and VFW members and everyone else who shows up later.
We should be open 'til about 5 or 6pm, not too late seeing as it's a Sunday.

Sorry i was late changing the sign (MY SIGN), but the rain slowed me down a bit. Bummer too, i'm gonna have to change it...

Wi******er VFW will once again host the District 5 picnic on the 16th. Menu includes hamburgs/ cheese-burgs, hot dogs/ chili dogs, and all the fixin's. Hope to see all members, including Aux members, there.

Heads up, everybody!
The Wi******er VFW Post 3968 will be open this Saturday, August 1 for it's regular hours.
We have an early event in the canteen and decided to just stay open all day. Just like old times.
Come down, play pool, hang out.

P.S. The VFW has two events. One this Saturday (the 1st), and the CVMA event next Saturday (the 8th). We will be open on the 8th as well. It seems a shame to open early just to close early, so we will stay open that day too!!!

Friendly reminder that the VFW Post 3968 will have our Bar Bonus game Sunday at 2PM.
The Pavilion will open at noon but the game doesn't start 'til 2.
I may ("may") be pressed into service behind the bar for everyone to harass, who knows?
The prizes will be gift cards of various denominations, with a few money rounds thrown in to make it interesting.
I will call again because i like being in the driver's seat!

Saturday's Meat raffle wrap up.
Get it? "Meat" "wrap up"?
I'm so funny!
It was a lively crowd. The game went good, quick.
I especially want to recognize Nancy. She helped immensely with prize suggestions. I mean, when was the last time you saw a Taco pack, or a Shepard's Pie thing? I could not have done it without her.
Natalie took over for me at half-time when i got "tired".
I want to recognize the Keene crew who came down to support us- Kristie and Tony, Ed and Skip, and Natalie (who pulled double duty).
It was a success in a so many ways, turn out was awesome, everyone's attitude was awesome. Brie shined again as bartender!
Ron Fontaine was a welcome addition to the team.
THE most important thing is our community still turns out to support the VFW in our efforts to contribute to Veterans' causes.
Get ready for the next, best event.
