*** ROUTE 7 WESTBOUND CLOSED ***

A structure fire currently has Route 7 shutdown in the area a Steep Woods Lane. Any traffic coming towards Wi******er from Clarke County is advised to use the following alternate routes:

* Triple J Road to Senseny Road to access points west into Frederick County.

* Valley Mill Road (east end of Frederick County) to head west towards Wi******er.

* Burnt Factory Rd to access the Jordan Springs area out to Red Bud and Martinsburg Pike

FCSO is asking for the community’s assistance with locating the individual(s) involved in a series of vehicle tampering and thefts from vehicles in the Pioneer Heights area.
We are asking that anyone with a RING, or other doorbell camera system, review any recordings from 12am-6am last night (Sun.) with an emphasis on the areas of Walls Circle, Asbury Road and Settler’s Circle.
If your system captured any suspicious activity, or persons, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (540) 662-6162 and ask to speak to a deputy so that footage can be reviewed.
We appreciate any assistance offered and remind everyone to remove valuables from your vehicles each night and keep the doors locked.

*LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITY*
FRONT ROYAL PIKE / RT 522

After seeing several social media posts, and receiving public inquiries, the Sheriff’s Office wanted to update the community on this situation.
An 84-year old resident on Front Royal Pike was found deceased this morning in his front yard. At this time, the unattended death does not appear to be suspicious in nature and there are no signs of foul play.
There is no known threat or danger to the general public. Next of kin have been notified and we will be respecting their privacy and ask everyone else to do the same.

Rae-Anna Allen was last seen at approx. 11:07 am on Sunday January 9th at her home in Wi******er.
Efforts are ongoing to attempt to track Rae-Anna’s movements, since leaving her home, as well as investigating past contact with any individual(s) who she may now be in the company of.
If you know of Rae-Anna’s whereabouts, or have any type of contact with her, please call the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office at 540-662-6162.

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

The Sheriff’s Office is aware of concerns raised by public school students, parents and faculty members in our area who may have read a social media post threatening violence at a public school identified only as JHS.
The School Safety Division of FCSO has been working with school administrators on a threat assessment of this situation.
Frederick County Public Schools has pushed out the message below using their rapid communications system. The Sheriff’s Office is posting this notice and information to assure everyone that this matter is being investigated and addressed. It is believed there is no credible threat to our students or facilities at this time.

“This is a message from the Frederick County Public Schools’ Rapid Communication System. Earlier this evening, the school division was made aware of rumors circulating on social media suggesting a student intended to engage in acts of violence at a school identified as JHS which some believed to be James Wood High School. Upon learning of these rumors, school staff and law enforcement followed established threat assessment procedures and found nothing to indicate there is any reason for concern or that the threats are credible. In fact, the social media posts that led to the rumors are well-known and have been circulating throughout the country over an extended period of time. Although we have no evidence of a credible threat, we are continuing to work with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office to help ensure our school remains safe and secure.”

We are looking for any possible witnesses who were traveling East on Route 7 this past Sunday (8/8/21) between 3:00-3:25pm. Especially anyone operating a dash camera in their vehicle at the time. We ask everyone to please refrain from posting any 3rd party information, past comments, screenshots or any details not witnessed personally by you. Even if you believe them to be fact because of bits and pieces of radio scanner traffic, etc.
