Tom Hopcroft for State Senate

Tom Hopcroft for State Senate Democrat for State Senate, Second Middlesex District: Medford, Somerville, parts of Cambridge & Wi******er. Fresh leadership for Beacon Hill.

Father and coalition builder who's delivered statewide results. I am the son and grandson of educators. I was an adjunct lecturer at Northeastern University. I served on the Executive Committee and chaired the Fiscal Affairs and Administrative Policy Committee on the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education. I am also the chairman of a charitable education foundation focused on STEM for middle and

high school girls. I am a dad of both a 1st grader and 6th grader at two different schools in the district, one on an IEP with special needs and one without, so I have a first-hand understanding of a wide range of the social-emotional, mental health, and executive functioning issues that students are facing. I have worked with amazing psychologists and special education professionals in the district as well as world-class mental health and executive functioning leaders in our region. I am a licensed attorney, CEO of the state’s largest technology association and board member of a STEM oriented robotics innovation center so I have a unique view into innovation and the changing workforce needs of area employers. I am an outspoken leader in the tech community on diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice, particularly with regard to the tech talent pipeline. My wife, Victoria, and I have lived in Wi******er for over 15 years. We have two sons, a dog and a cat.

Massachusetts has led the world in innnvoation, education and climate. We built the institutions and medicines the word depends on. But right now, we're not keeping up. Families that built this state can't afford to live here. Let's build a better Massachusetts.

We must defend our immigrant friends and neighbors. They are the fabric of our nation and should have a feeling of safety and belonging. Help me continue this fight on Beacon Hill.

We had a hardy group who braved the wet wintery New England weather for sign holding today. While it soaked through our jackets, we had many warm waves from supporters. Thank you to my campaign supporters and to the other candidates for such a positive outlook on a gloomy day!
