We are continuing our partnership with Clark County Public Schools to lead the way on a Fall Break Food Drive to stock Fall Break food boxes. Health officials have identified potential measles exposures in Richmond and Olive Hill, Kentucky. An unvaccinated, out-of-state traveler visited several establishments in these communities on August 24, August 27, and August 28, 2026.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can cause serious health complications, especially in young children. Vaccination is the best protection against measles. Immunization against measles comes through the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine.

If you believe you may have been exposed to measles:
-Check your immunity: Verify if you have received the MMR vaccine or have medical proof of immunity.

-Monitor yourself for symptoms: watch for high fever, cough, runny nose, red, watery eyes, and a rash for 21 days following the exposure.

-Contact your health care provider: Call your doctor or the local health department immediately if you develop symptoms or have questions.
