Thank you Beth Macy for reminding Ben Cline that he owes our district a real debate! Ben Cline should stop his theatrics, meet his constituents, and agree to a debate!

Here’s an idea: Instead of this silly debating about debates, let’s actually hold a real political debate. Ben, the world now knows that you ghosted Cardinal News on their invitation to debate me at Roanoke College, an invitation I accepted. The news is out.

Call them up, tell them you found the invitation, and let’s meet next month for a real debate, with real moderators and a crowd of 6th District citizens who can hear us voice our ideas about important issues: the economy, the senseless war, data centers, healthcare, trade policy and so much more.

C’mon, Ben. What do you say? The district deserves it. I look forward to meeting you onstage at Roanoke College.

A quick reminder about these upcoming events!

During the upcoming general election, Frederick County voters will consider whether to authorize an additional local retail sales tax of up to 1%, with revenue from the tax restricted to qualifying capital projects involving the construction or major renovation of public schools in Frederick County.

➡ Tuesday, September 1 | 6 to 7 p.m. @ Sherando High School (The meeting will also be livestreamed.)
➡ Tuesday, September 8 | 6 to 7 p.m. @ James Wood High School

School Tours | Dates and Locations

In addition to the town hall meetings, Frederick County Public Schools will host tours of Apple Pie Ridge Elementary School and Bass-Hoover Elementary School. These schools are among the facilities that could benefit from sales tax revenues if the referendum is approved and the tax is subsequently enacted.

The tours will provide residents with an opportunity to see the schools and learn more about their facility needs.

Update: The below schedule was updated 8/21/2026. The Bass-Hoover tour will be offered on September 2 and the Apple Pie Ridge tour will be offered on September 9.
